A BETTER PLACE from trumpetist, singer, songwriter and producer David Longoria is a collection of modern Vocal Jazz songs. It takes on important issues of today including songs "Make The World A Better Place" about doing good for the world and for others; "Don't Let Another Mother Cry", addressing violence in the streets that plagues out cities today; "Precious Innocence" taking child abuse headon, "Terra Pax" (Latin for "Peace On Earth") which makes one think about the need for world peace; "Look To The Sun", which reminds us to surrender to the higher power for all the problems, worries and concerns of life in our day. 

There are a few lighter songs as well, "Summertime" features a fresh but respectful take on the Gershwin classic featuring the world class soulful voice of Promise Marks, a relative newcomer but the one who is taking jazz and blues radio by storm. David Longoria dazzles with his cadenza and performance of the 1930s trumpeter's anthem "I Can't Get Started" featuring his melancholy mood throughout both his vocals and his impressive trumpet work. On all songs from this album, David delivers honest and stellar trumpet work reminiscint of trumpet greats of jazz and pop including Freddie Hubbard, Al Hirt, Doc Severinsen, Dizzy Gillespie and others. David's improvisation skills are envied in the commercial world and his solo work shines here from the first song "Make The World A Better Place" (don't miss that breathtaking improvised solo!) all the way to his muted jazz attitude on several other songs.

David Longoria is an artist, trumpet player, composer and record producer. He has worked with many of the top artists and producers of our generation. In the dance world he has produced hundreds of records for artists and labels all over the world. His newest Dance Single is Angles which combines his jazz and classically influenced trumpeting with trumpeting along with current progressive house production. The result is the groundbreaking melodic and rhythmic sound. This is the first single from the highly anticipated Instrumental Dance album The Journey which is scheduled to be released at the end of the year.
