Greetings and happy Friday guys and gals. I've got a fresh volume of the Abstract series for you to kick off the weekend and as wifey gets closer to bringing us our newest addition to the family it may be my last session for a while. 

Didn't intend on this one, it kind of just happened. Those kind of mixes are usually the most fun for me as i'm sure most of our DJ friends out there can relate.

'Re-Imagination' starts off a little different from the other Abstract mixes with some high energy rollers and vocals, slowly descending into more diverse vibes as the session progresses. A lot of different flavors here; rollers, funk, jazzy, a bit of minimal, progressive, atmospheric, drumfunk, and electronica. A little something for everyone, with a section featuring 4 tunes from Dash off his new EP's as well as 3 tunes off of Sevin's Freebies LP. It's a fun mix and i think it expands the frame of the Abstract Series a bit, which has been a nice outlet for more diverse selections on the page.

This EP starts with the amazing Trident with an atmospheric Jungle Dub track, followed by Optimystic's roaring remix of my track Photon.
The B Side is equally epic, featuring the break master Opius who teams up with the legendary KJ Sawka to give us a string-laden breakbeat masterpiece. The final track is from someone who needs no introduction; 'Ricky Force'. He presents an updated version of his deep jungle cut 'Thulsa Doom', the original of which was released back in 2012.

Dawn Raid’s style of DJ set can simply be referred to as straight up rinse out, with a musical edge! This is due to all the artists in the collective having a shared experience in DJ/MC performance and production spanning the past 15 years from jungle as it was back in the early 90’s, to its present day DnB format. Combined with a real passion for the music, and the scene since it’s inception in the early 90s, Dawn Raid seek to deliver productions and live performances that represent the spectrum of Jungle/DnB from its beginnings to the present day. They do not limit themselves to current trends and always encompass the genre in its many forms, from deep and rolling, to big tear out tracks… always with a strong reference to the core elements and influences of the music from it's beginning.
