Named after one of my closest friends and the person who encouraged me to pursue music production and DJing, "Kenny Barto." This song was originally released in "The Russian Lady Diaries" in 2012. 

I'm not really sure what inspired me to write this song aside from wanting to pay homage to my friend. I remember thinking of the EDM he liked and tried producing something close to that that he would like. What I ended up producing was an electro house song with a dubstep sounding drop, a very interesting melody, and enough brevity to leave listeners wondering what the hell they just listened to. 

I don't think it's a bad song, if anything, I've thought about remixing it in recent years because I believe the melody is too good not to receive an update. My problem with the song is the drop. It's so...basic. I'm okay with it because it allows others that want to remix the song to insert themselves into it and make it their own, but personally, I could've done better. 

This song was written with two years experience in FL Studio. I had an inkling of music theory from when I played the trumpet and the drums, so that's why it's a miracle this song sounds composed correctly. During that time I truly believed in the "if it sounds good, then it's good" mentality that a lot of budding producers hear from more experienced musicians. Which, is not bad advise per se, but as I would later come to realize, knowing the rules actually allows you to break them in a more synergistic way so that things don't just "sound good."

I designed some of the sounds in the drop in 3xOSC, and the drop's bass was designed in NI Massive. The chord and leads and sub-bass are all either designed in 3xOSC or a stock sound from either Nexus or Sylenth. 

I don't think this is a bad song in itself. There's a lot to like here, but I would do certain things differently if I had to start from scratch.
