The Saga of Skari the Sky-Watcher

In the days when the fjords still whispered the names of gods, there lived a warrior named Skari, son of Eirik the Flame-Bearded. Skari was no ordinary raider — he was a watcher of the skies, a dreamer beneath the stars.

One winter night, as the aurora danced like Valkyries above the icy cliffs, Skari stood alone on the high ridge of Hrafnheim. His people had long spoken of the silver serpent — a light that moved without wind, faster than any raven, and silent as the grave.

Suddenly, the sky split with a soundless flash. A glowing disk, rimmed with runes that shimmered like fire, descended from the heavens. Skari fell to his knees, shield raised, heart pounding like Thor’s hammer.

From the disk emerged a figure — tall, cloaked in light, with eyes like polished obsidian. It spoke not with words, but with visions: of worlds beyond Midgard, of ships that sailed the void, of knowledge older than Odin himself.

Skari was marked that night — a rune burned into his palm, a gift or a curse. He returned to his village, changed. He spoke of stars that sang, of gods that were not gods, and of a war that raged beyond the veil of the sky.

The elders called him mad. The skalds refused to sing his tale. But the children listened. And when Skari vanished one spring morning, leaving only a trail of scorched earth and a whisper in the wind, they knew: the silver serpent had returned.
