If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud GO tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

My Name

HYPE MACHINE is the fourth and final single dropped from YVA's upcoming debut EP by the same name. It is a prayer, a satirical sacrifice to the new gods of social media.

YVA cites Radiohead, IRAH, Massive Attack and early Fever Ray as her main inspirations for HYPE MACHINE, drawing from her love of drama and soundtracks to form an EP that is unrelenting in its approach of truth and meaning in a life that's gone fully virtual.

The very earliest versions of this work suggested (to me) the orc drums of J.R.R. Tolkien that shouted "Doom, doom!" to any faint-hearted heroes of Middle Earth.

"Doomed!" was only planned to be the working title of this piece. I consulted. People said they liked the title. I went with it. Then I had to find accompanying artwork that would not offend survivors or bereaved relatives of whatever was depicted...

So, this result of all my research, the picture shows a planned demolition of some doomed buildings.

But, I have to say that we're all doomed... We all know inescapably that  we're not here forever.
