Object of Ridicule

Flux

Matthew Knight is a songwriter, musician and producer from South London. He is also an Olympic-level procrastinator.

He is a musical shapeshifter, working in different styles and genres, from acoustic folk to hard rock, from jazz to foot-stomping soul, but always sounding like himself, with witty lyrics, quirky chord changes and an ever-present sense of melody. 

Matthew has been writing music since he first discovered the "record" function on his parent's tape player, aged 5.  From then on, his life was all about music:  playing in bands, singing in choirs, and all the time writing music.   After writing mostly instrumentals during his teens and at university, Matthew discovered the joy of songwriting and poured his energy into that.  Sadly, by his late twenties, "plan B" had taken over and, before he knew it, a sensible job and family were his focus, although the guitar was never far from his hands and a tune always in his head.

Now old enough to know better, in an attempt to juggle his music with his busy work and family life, he is working on a project to release a song a month, starting May 2023, and hoping finally to get his music out into the wider world.
