[info text] During a summer journey through Italy, Avant.OCS recorded the textures that surrounded them: whispers of wind, sun-cracked woods, and fragments of nature scorched under a relentless sun. Upon returning home, these organic impressions were fused with modular explorations, blending natural elements with synthetic sound. The resulting EP moves through hypnotic, molten rhythms and raw, tactile atmospheres. Prototype V marks a deepening of Avant.OCS’s pursuit of new sonic ideas, pushing the boundaries of techno while remaining rooted in its essence. Avant.OCS expresses deep gratitude for the opportunity to release the project within a space dedicated to purity and forward motion.

After his joining with Ostgut Booking in 2015, his contribution to the Ostgut Ton | Zehn compilation and two 12“es on Ben Klock’s Klockworks label, Ukraine-born, now Berlin-based producer and DJ Etapp Kyle debuts on Unterton.

As with his previous releases Etapp Kyle captures his playful, multi-layered Techno endeavours with single-word track titles: Continuum EP starts off with “Opto”, an atmospheric track with fazing bleeps, ensouled synths and subdued claps – a prime example of his great feel for musical detail. “Ahora” builds upon this vibe with more asynchronous drum patterns, well placed drips of melody, distant pulses, mesmerizing pads and hints of rattles amongst other percussion.

The EPs title track “Continuum” is distinctive through its use of industrial hammer jabs and reduced, puzzling synth pads that are counteracted by a more dominant, steady and stubborn kick drum. “Limb” contrasts unconventional pulsating, hypnotic synth tones with sharp claps and snare sounds, and rounds off this 12“ of all new, puristic and futurist Techno, catering as much to the darker corners as to the brightest spots of the dance floor.

Whistleblower is a project ran by a trio that includes Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot and Rhymos. Based in and around Portsmouth UK, the label is mainly a vessel for their own productions, although it has has also featured some original material from Simon Baker also known as B.K.R. for example.

The seventeenth release titled Thorn is from the label head himself and that also features German favourite Andre Kronert who runs the outstanding ODD / EVEN imprint.

Reset Robot is an artist who regularly defies logic, moving to the stern sound of his own drum, whilst blazing a trail in his wake as he continues to rise to through the ranks to the summit. His music can be heard on renowned labels such as Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul, Josh Wink’s Ovum, Anja Schneider’s Mobilee, Sven Väth’s Cocoon and beyond.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Arrows Of Hope” as its melancholic charm shows why he is such a sharp producer. Stripped back and edgy, the synth based electronic core and delayed notes create a magical atmosphere, where the shuffling beat adds a unique funk to this ultimately restrained piece. Fear not, an injection of energy comes from the tense crescendo climb that is built for satisfying the dancefloor pleasure seekers.
