Hence Therefore makes a long overdue return to All Centre, putting together his first release on the label since 2019. The Warrang/Sydney-based artist delivers two fast-slow stormers on Elite Panic, channeling forward-thinking production into endlessly compelling dancefloor cuts.

The title track opens with dubbed-out sirens and scattered breaks, building the tension with elasticated bass hits and rolling kicks. Rising, radiant synths lift the track to new heights, reaching euphoric peaks amongst hectic percussive patterns which envelope and intoxicate the listener.

On Zero Trust, filtered vocals bubble beneath the surface whilst infectious percussion stutters across the frequency spectrum. A bouncy sub bass punches its way amongst the percussion whilst floaty synth lines alternate and intersect, reaching new levels with the introduction of a mesmerising droning synth line, then launching back into a heavy, propulsive rhythm.

Elite Panic is available on digital platforms from February 21st.

'Elite Panic' is a forthcoming two-tracker by Gadigal/Wangal Land based Hence Therefore, a bouncy, melted duo of dancehall steppers. The producer, sometimes live performer & DJ has seen praise across the seas, with releases on Early Reflex, DECISIONS and 3bs, as well as regular plays by Batu, M.E.S.H., object blue, AYA, Laksa & many more.

'Zero Trust' is track 2/2 of the release. Regularly switching between half & doubletime, 'Zero Trust' is like a soft, gooey centre at the core of any good dance floor. Textured, building and unpredictable, it seems to do everything bar physically lifting you off your feet.

Of the release, Hence Therefore shared: "The EP title is a phrase I came across in Rebecca Solnit's A Paradise Built In Hell - she writes that in a catastrophe most of us get on with helping each other with the necessities of life while the rich & powerful freak out about law, order & commerce... "

& of the track: "Some string-flourishing sample from the All Centre discord server got shredded into icy dancehall groove with a randomised arpeggiator. An uncharacteristically crisp & whirring stepper developed around it - playfully wrong-footed low end, attempted snare abstinence, snare indulgence, caroline_gasp.wav, things of this nature."

For the first output from an ongoing exchange between East Africa and East Asia, via collectives Nyege Nyege/Hakuna Kulala (Kampala - Uganda) and SVBKVLT (Shanghai – China), we are excited to present ‘Slip A’ and ‘Slip B’, two Eps made during Slikback’s China tour/residency in April 2019.

After making first contact online in late 2018 and subsequently meeting up at CTM festival, Berlin, in January 2019, Nyege Nyege and SVBKVLT founded the beginning of a long term project exploring collaborations between East-Africa and East-Asia based artists.

For the first stage of the project, SVBKVLT invited Kenyan producer Slikback to China for a 3-week tour and residency in April 2019. During these 3 weeks, Slikback performed in 5 cities (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Beijing), spending time in the studio with artists throughout the tour. The results of these studio sessions are now being presented in the form of two Eps, to be released simultaneously across the two labels Hakuna Kulala and SVBKVLT on September 6th, coinciding with Nyege Nyege Festival 2019, Jinja – Uganda, at which Slikback and 2 of the collaborators, Hyph11E and 33EMYBW, will perform.

‘Slip B’

The second EP, entitled ‘Slip B’, is a 5 track EP from Slikback and Hyph11E, consisting of 3 collaborative tracks as well as a remix exchange of the artists' previously released works. During his China tour, Slikback spent the majority of the time in Shanghai, spending 3 intense days in the studio with Hyph11E. As well as presenting these works at Nyege Nyege 2019, Slikback and Hyph11E will play an exclusive b2b set at Unsound Krakow in October 2019. ‘Slip B’ will be released via SVBKVLT on September 6th 2019.

Netsh is dead, long live Netsh ! The 24 year old producer is back on Comic Sans Records and delivers a 6-tracker EP that sounds like a true aggiornamento in his music.
The braindance inherited from Aphex Twin which we can hear in Neural Netshworks, is here replaced by something new that defines the contours of a 2.0 upddate of his creative process.
Netsh has left aside most of his usual hardware and used different time signatures. This renewal in his working method gave birth to Cyberbass, an energetic style in which IDM and futuristic bass music blend to musically describe a close dystopia where humanism has given way to transhumanism.
The EP and its tracks are crossed with contrasts, the ear is often knocked out by a powerful polyrithmia before being released by emotionnaly intense breaks.
It's probably Netsh's way of illustrating one of the biggest philosophical debate of our time : will technology free human kind or on the contrary enslave him ?
