Music has the power to be a really beautiful thing. It marks certain moments in time that you carry with you your whole life. When ever you hear certain tracks they transport you right back to some place wonderful. I'm madly in love with my girlfriend Christina and went with her in 2012 to Lightning in a bottle where I played this set. LIB is a wonderful and diverse festival on the West coast of America. It was Christina's and my first festival together. I wanted to make it a really really special trip and decided beforehand to play only for her that day inspired by, and full of, my love for the most gorgeous, lovely and sweet girl I've ever met.

"Breakfast of Champions is consistently my favorite party of the year both to DJ and attend. I opened the outdoor main stage at 9am this year and for all intents and purposes got to play the sunrise set I had been desiring to play but never got the chance at Burning Man earlier in the year. I took it as an opportunity and honor to be able to set the tone for the morning and get the party off on the right foot. I loved getting to play more of a house oriented set with vocals and a block party feel towards the end of the set. I had a blast playing and hope it shows through in the set."

Bio:
Deckard began DJing in Seattle in 2000 and soon began playing gigs up and down the west coast. Upon moving to San Francisco in 2005 he fell in love with the electronic music scene which is so unique to the Bay Area. You can find him spinning at San Francisco institutions such as Mighty, Shine, Supper Club, Wish and the End Up. Deckard capped off a successful 2009 by joining up with the Space Cowboys Burning Man camp. Depending on the crowd, venue and time of day you might find him spinning downtempo lounge, funky big beat, tech house, electro or breaks.

My Definition of Chill Vol. II  Part 2

Back again to leisurely rock your boomboxes with My Definition of Chill Vol. 3. I've been overjoyed with the reaction I've received from the first two installments.  What began as a mix I was initially going to keep to myself ended up becoming my most listened to mix I've released. For volume 3 my life in San Francisco was a big inspiration for the songs that made it in. A departure in style from both volumes 1 and 2. I'm really happy to share these 22 songs with you that I've been listening to for the last 6 months I've been putting this together. Lots of cool stuff I've run across with vocals from Bob Marley, Al Green and Paul McCartney, a classic from DJ Shadow remixed in elegant style, old school chill classics with Orbital and Nightmares on Wax (I had to include them at some point) and some nods to particular friends with a few of the songs. My Definition of Chill Vol. 3

Recorded @ Get Underground - Rex Club - Paris - 03/08/12

I've taken roughly 13 months since I first started compiling tracks working away on Volume II of "My Definition of Chill." Like a squirrel storing nuts for the winter I would find some tracks and add them to the project and forget about it for awhile. A couple months go past and I forage a few more. 

Well, it's ready now. Putting together dance mixes is a relatively straightforward process for me. A chill mix is a different beast entirely. I'm going to be honest and tell you most chill mixes bore the hell out of me. Maybe that's just me not searching out wide and far enough to find music that entertains me. 

Either way, in putting together this mix, I logged many many hours in compiling, editing, and mixing it together. Along the way I was able to mix in some of my all time favorite songs by favorite artists of mine (Ulrich Schnauss and Underworld) along with some new classics (Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem), some covers (Toto, Walk on the Wild Side) and hidden gems. After releasing MASOCHIST EP things definitely changed for the Brazilian wonder duo. In Januari 2013 https://soundcloud.com/digitaria collaborated with the well-known duo ‘Adana Twins’ from Germany. Together they signed a track on Jeudi Records called ‘Reaction’ which went straight to the top of the charts. It seems that everything https://soundcloud.com/digitaria touches turns in to gold. Their last ‘Shine’ EP in April, a worldwide hit which was highly rated in the music ranking, is good proof of that.

The talents of https://soundcloud.com/hot-creations are coming to our hometown here in Amsterdam. On the 5th of July they will be playing at a great party called De Nachtdivisie, which will take place in the Chicago Social Club!

Deckard RIPEcast - My Definition of Chill - Vol 4 - Part 1 (More Chill)


Born and bred in Washington, Keith Harris (a.k.a. Deckard) starting DJ-ing in 2000, at venues and clubs in Seattle and Canada.  He moved to San Francisco in 2005 where his skills and talent evolved and became even more prolific, garnering interest and accolade and earning him a spot in the underground music scene.  


Deckard made his big splash as a member of Coda in 2006 at Burning Man. Soon after he joined forces with the Space Cowboys whose parties are legendary in San Francisco and Burning Man and whose Ripecast podcast was nominated for Best Podcast of the Year by Breakspoll for 2013. 



Mixing together a blend of music selection including, but certainly not limited to breakbeat, nu funk, and house, Deckard keeps crowds on their feet and moving backed by his unique sound and ability to mix genres whether it be playing a sunrise set at Breakfast of Champions or closing down the main room in front of a packed warehouse.

Deckard has performed in a variety of venues on the west coast and Canada with DJs such as Jondi & Spesh, Uberzone, Lee Coombs, Plump DJs, Dylan Rhymes, Meat Katie, Elite Force/Simon Shackleton, Worthy and more.
