These tunes are a collection or showcase mix of music i have made over the last few years be it edits, remixes or official releases and remixes through labels such as Cuttin It Fine, Breakbeat Paradise or That's Not An Edit.

This mix is basically a highlight of some of my better tracks that i thought you guys would like to hear in a continuous form. 44 tracks all up and 2 and half hours of music, mixed in key at 117bpm. This is also a studio mix made in Ableton, i hope you dig this funky affair. x :)

Another note: There are a couple of tracks in there that were made for labels but never quite got there. Kudos if you can work out which ones.

This week we want to honor someone who recently passed away and brought so many smiles and so much joy to people's lives - Jon H of Fort Knox Five. The Space Cowboys have been honored to have Jon be part of our family and us a part of his. Thank you Jon for your legacy of music and everything you brought to our speakers, our parties and our lives. Keep it funky bother.

When I started putting these tracks together for a mix I kept getting images of a pool party San Francisco style. Reminds me of sunny day parties I'd like to be at. It's actually a room in the toilets with a dance floor, pumping sound system & DJ booth that proper goes off! For this episode of Funk the World we wanted to dig deep and come up with another collection of songs from around the world that spoke to us. Our last Funk the World had an heavy Latin flavor but for this one we stretched out to include some songs from Africa as well. We hope you enjoy our heady blend of funky world music and it will inspire you to dig into some of these artists like Kansando from NYC whom was originally from Dominican Republic, his blend of traditional sounds with newer ideas and production techniques really draws you in. Born and bred in Washington, Keith Harris (a.k.a. Deckard) starting DJ-ing in 2000, at venues and clubs in Seattle and Canada.  He moved to San Francisco in 2005 where his skills and talent evolved and became even more prolific, garnering interest and accolade and earning him a spot in the underground music scene.  


Deckard made his big splash as a member of Coda in 2006 at Burning Man. Soon after he joined forces with the Space Cowboys whose parties are legendary in San Francisco and Burning Man and whose Ripecast podcast was nominated for Best Podcast of the Year by Breakspoll for 2013. 



Mixing together a blend of music selection including, but certainly not limited to breakbeat, nu funk, and house, Deckard keeps crowds on their feet and moving backed by his unique sound and ability to mix genres whether it be playing a sunrise set at Breakfast of Champions or closing down the main room in front of a packed warehouse.

Deckard has performed in a variety of venues on the west coast and Canada with DJs such as Jondi & Spesh, Uberzone, Lee Coombs, Plump DJs, Dylan Rhymes, Meat Katie, Elite Force/Simon Shackleton, Worthy and more.
