This song began with Terry sharing an intriguing Eastern sounding synth and minimal beat with Ken, who added a really solid beat to bring out the strong rhythm of the song. Once they had a solid foundation and skeleton, they shared it with the rest of the Eclectic Collective. Josh added his four string fretless bass in a dubby line that was inspired by Tez's hot skank part.  Stephen came up with the floating ambient guitar throughout and the shocking dynamic lift towards the end, and Tez piled on to light it up. Then MD got a hold of it and wrote and sang some of his trademark, fun lyrics and vocals in the first part of the song. Ken, not to be left out of the melodic experience, added the vocals at the end. 
  After we all had everything in the can, the Texas Tea combo of Stephen and Terry produced and mixed the whole thing down. This wasn't their first rodeo mixing a project together, and it really shows in the end quality. They also have several duo projects up on both of their pages that are worth checking out.  
  We think the end result is reminiscent of Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation, two big influences on a few of us. We all hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Continuing my fascination with odd time signatures this chart is in 11/4 (3,3,3,2 and 3,3,2,3), 7/4 and 4/4.  In addition it was originally written in November 1974 for a combo I was in at the time and was performed as a big band chart at Berklee College of Music by Phil Wilson’s lab band in 1983.   It features an alto 1 solo and an optional piano or vibraphone solo.  This chart has swing and latin grooves that provide contrasting section of the charts.   It is aimed at high school, college and community big band advanced intermediate.

According to the ChatBot, and who am I to argue, Dee Zee’s music style is a blend of classical and electronic elements, which creates a unique and original sound. He writes, plays, and records all the tracks himself, using various instruments and software. He is inspired by artists like Philip Glass, Steve Reich, and Brian Eno.

According to me I’m an independent musician, writing and recording instrumental electronic progressive rock on Roland synthesiser workstations, although the original ideas for tracks often come from iPad soft synths (I use the Animoog and Jordantron) or the piano [not the piano so much due to arthritis in both hands - at least the keyboard has lighter action].  

After playing piano from a very young age I played keyboards in the London pub rock group deEssen.  My original influences were probably Caravan, Camel, Ultravox, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd and The Doors, with a sprinkling of Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP, PFM, Greenslade, Deep Purple, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis…  These days, when I’m not listening to you on SoundCloud I listen to Iamthemorning, The Resonance Association, Ozric Tentacles, Joe Satriani, IQ, Threshold, Steven Wilson, Lacuna Coil, Liquid Tension Experiment, The Flower Kings, Spock’s Beard, Led Bib, Thank You Scientist, Big Big Train, Eloy, Magenta, Wobbler, Frost*, Simon Phillips, Jean-Luc Ponty, Renaissance, Arena, Izz Jupiter Fungus …
