A song about an exotic dancer in the off off avenues of Las Vegas. The catchy Motown beat is much like a dancer's walk on music syncopated and strutty, The song is a kind of rock suite with the story and clever hook up front followed by some mesmeric phrase repetitions by singer Bob Dannewitz, finished with wild soloing by guitarist Hank Rusch. Rusch, the master of the outro finishes the song on an addictive fadeout leaving you wanting another shot.

Last but not least, Smokin Rock bares its soul for the world to see. Dannewitz belts out his story of hardship with unflinching honesty as Hank Rusch machine guns the universe with his Stratocaster. This song was written in 2018. It was a sort of autobiographical song  pertaining to singer Bob Dannewitz during a rough patch in his life.  At the that time lockdowns, riots, crime, war were non existent. We thought the song was not relatable so we shelved it.  What a difference a couple of years make!! Now all the mad prophet rantings are par for the course in this year 2024.  This the last of Smokin Rock's releases in the album Desiree, we present it for your listening.

A bluesy number that I wrote and produced but did not play on. I wrote the song and brought to my piano teacher a jazz guy who liked it and I hired him to record it with his singer wife Janice Mitchell who worked with Ray Charles and all kinds of rock acts in the 70's. She is truly 20 feet from stardom this woman has such a soulful voice I am honored to have worked with her. The song is really about something I was going through at the time I was beating myself up for a while.
