Embracing Midgar's story-tale approach, 'Da Nao Tian Gong' (also known as 'Havoc in Heaven') stands as Polygonia's latest four-track EP. Lindsey Wang draws direct influence from a beloved childhood cartoon, itself inspired by the ancient Chinese legend 'Journey to the West' and the iconic character Sun Wukong. In a retro-modern twist, the tracks vividly depict Sun Wukong's essence: 'Jindou Yun' embodies the swiftness of his cloud, 'Shen Wai Shenfa' invokes his magical hair with tribal rhythms, 'Ruyi Jingu Bang' mirrors his legendary staff's power, and 'Disha Shu' portrays his 72 Transformations through vibrant harmonics.

For Secret Thirteen journal we have worked on a special slowed down techno recording in the spirit of the live sets we have did for Polar Inertia’s recent exhibitions in Brussels and CCA, Tbilisi.

A couple of months ago we have changed all our gear and equipment, and collected new machines but somehow never had enough time to meet altogether and wire them. Finally, we have decided to hook up our new musical gear and equipment to improvise the future of Polar Inertia’s sound.

It was one of those studio jams you do not want to rush to. We took our time. Slowed down the tempo to 112 bpm and sent all synths through a multitrack recorder to catch every moment of the jam session. During hours of knob twisting we went through several states of mind and different styles.

What we are sharing with Secret Thirteen readers is an edited version of what happened that night.

Vladw is Vladimir Vinco's techno project. Resident in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he's got influences from hip hop, noise and sound experimenting.
His assorted sounds are fat and hipnotic, nevertheless the main features are the strong productions and dancefloor impact, along with noticeable and aggresive synths and heavy atmospheres, and a constant search for music development.
Vladw has published and collaborated with multiple european records such as Planet Rhythm (Holland), Genesa Records (Serbia), Dynamic Reflection (Netherlands) just to name a few.
His work has also been supported by various renowned producers from the techno scene like Marcel Dettmann, Dvs1, Exium, Marcel Fengler, Ben Sims, Developer, Psyk, Jeroen Search, Samuli Kemppi, among others.

Honing her skills as DJ in Birmingham since the late 90s, Rebekah's hard work and pursuit of music has led her to reach a level representative of many DJs at the top of their game. She's become a colossal presence within techno the last five years, with her formidable sets and relentless sound capturing the hearts of four-by-four lovers looking for BPMs in the upper echelon of the genre. As a producer, she's asserted herself with countless releases since her first 12-inch in 2004, putting out heavy hitter after heavy hitter on labels such as Cult Figures, CLR, Soma Records and more recently Mord. Her debut album from last year Fear Paralysis showed a welcome constraint to her sound, describing the LP as a labour of love in times of uncertainty, and using that to explore elements to her music more thoroughly, and with more depth.

Now based in Berlin, she's found a close friendship with fellow local Paula Temple, sharing a similar outlook to techno and taking it to the stage together for a series of b2b shows and tour dates that now seem more regular than ever. We caught up with Rebekah to talk about the Elements project she runs with Dark Chamber and Jay Sirrett, discovering techno producers from New Dehli, and working with artist Malika Maria for her audio visual work. Her Truancy Volume, which she describes as a mix of old and new discoveries, is an hour long excursion of exhilarating, warehouse techno that's she's now known for championing.
