Basel-based mara zuli is passionate about diverse musical styles from different eras. Her sets combine percussive technoid and bass-influenced sounds that create a deep and psychedelic-energetic atmosphere. The co-founder of Strasbourg-based collective Menthe Poivrée is always on the lookout for new concepts and collaborations, combining the fields of music, audiovisual and aesthetics. By organising events, mara zuli defends a diverse and inclusive music scene. Her residency on Swiss radio TRNSTN will start from march on.

For this mix I wanted to try and build a blend some of the outcome of my researches towards the different shades and forms of danceable music I personally enjoy the most, possibly limiting as much as possible the usage of music conceived and created specifically for the contemporary dance floors and sound systems, and trying to dig deeper into different dimensions of regular and non-regular rhythms, music jams and head-moving sonic creations from all over the world, mostly focusing on the mediterranean macro area and more.

My past, when I was living in Berlin and DJing more regularly in clubs, has helped me shape my technical skills. Milano instead has helped me breaking my limits, getting out of my comfort zone and destroying a lot of the patterns that, as a DJ and Music Maker, were locking me down in a box. There’s a lot of oxygen, curiosity and creativity nowadays in my everyday life.

Definitely one of the kinetic events. I prefer small DIY events over infamous and hyper-celebrated social gatherings. The only thing I care the most about lately is the sound system.

As a devotee of nature, Atoloi explores sound creating a mellow amalgam of layers using echoing synths, processed field recordings, and self-created samples; all mixed in a lysergic experience of heavy-grained noises and evocative instrumental compositions.

Not sticking only to club-oriented sonorities, instead, his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost in a dense "no boundaries" journey between the worlds of dance and meditation.

For U-R-S, sound is not merely an expression of what has already been mastered or performed. Instead, it’s a living archive, a musical encyclopedia in constant evolution. Much like a library of unread books, her studio is filled with instruments, recordings, and fragments of compositions that might never be fully realized but are essential in her potential. These sounds are not just records of past achievements but seeds for future experiments—a reservoir of possibilities waiting to be explored.
Every note played, every texture created, adds to a vast network of interconnected ideas. On U-R-S approach, the incomplete sketches, dissonant layers, and raw recordings are not failures or incomplete works; they are tools, ideas in waiting, elements of a larger and ongoing process. In this way, her mixes are not a finished product but an evolving workshop—a space where sound is continuously transformed, recontextualized, and enriched.
Artefact : 
Just as Umberto Eco’s library is a repository of future projects, U-R-S’s archive of sound is not a reflection of what has been definitively achieved but a workshop brimming with future explorations. Her music, like Eco’s library, embodies the ever-unfolding pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and discovery.

These mixes were specifically made for sore legs and tired minds, helping punters to take a moment away from it all throughout the weekend. Big thanks to the Floorless crew for the opportunity, it was truly one of the most fulfilling experiences we've had at an event.

The magic of the tent wouldn't have been nearly as good without the amazing light installation by Metic, who leveled things up in a serious way with his Ripples II installation - something we'll never forget.
