"Also known as Malii Yorks, I'm an Amsterdam based artist who is passionate about making refined ceramics and composing deep rhythms within the spectrum of techno as a genre. 

This recording shows my love for deep percussive techno rhythms and was made in the period when I was moving to another house and therefore had no studio for a while. It was a warm week with high temperatures so I often sat outside on the balcony with a small controller recording mixes. This one contains some of my favs and some tracks of my own."

Garden Talks 05 - Noah Lyas & Eafhm

DSS 090 comes from the skillful hands of Noah Lyas, an artist passionate about making refined ceramics and composing deep atmospheric rhythms.

Growing up up in a house where music was the dominating factor. With two passionate parents who shared a large record collection with their children and with a father as a musician, early contact with different instruments was made as well as performing arts.

Later in life, around the age of twenty, after many dances in night clubs with friends, Noah started to make music focussing on soft percussive rhythms and lush atmospheres, finding inspiration in different kinds of music and sometimes even movies.

A real pleasure to host one of my favourite djs in the Animix series, the ever-charming and immensely talented @playvlada, with her distinctly recognisable signature sound.

With a style deep, but somehow oozing with equal parts crunch and groove, Vlada is a master of blending her wide and eclectic old-school record collection into undulating journeys of bassy, hypnotic grooves, telling of her longstanding passion to the craft. 

The Russian born, but Berlin based mainstay balances touring with running mix series/party collective speLL in Berlin & beyond, with @vaahzer. One of my favourite parties in town :)

Hailing from Brooklyn's electronic music scene, Moon Patrol stands out as a compelling collaboration between Irina Kotik and Gilles Wasserman. As the visionary co-founders of the Brooklyn-based webzine Delayed, the duo brings a wealth of influences to their joint venture, Moon Patrol.
Their style fuses soft, delicate melodies and evolving ambiances with rumbling grooves and intricate percussion, taking listeners on unique journeys through their DJ sets and original productions.
Moon Patrol has released music on labels like Oslated, Huinali Records, On Board Music, Lost In Translation, Lossless, and Accents Records. Cachet is a Los Angeles-based, multidisciplinary artist and DJ from Chicago. Known for their genre-bending style, they mix house, soul, funk, disco, afro, Latin, and breakbeat music. Cachet held a long residency at Smart Bar Chicago and performed at Charivari Detroit Music Festival. They have radio residencies with Djoon Paris, Playasol Ibiza Radio, House Nation Music Bari Italy, and 313.FM Planet Funk Detroit. In Los Angeles, they have DJed at Ysabel, Margot, The Proper, and Bar Funke. Cachet founded Sashay Records, a queer Chicago-based label celebrating warehouse music and supporting independent artists.

For our fifteenth installment we've invited Imprea, a French artist based in Brussels known for his hypnotic blend of ambient music. 

Besides being a DJ and producer he works as a percussionist in symphonic orchestras, where he focusses on contemporary-new music. A role that deeply influences his sophisticated sound design. 

Inspired by impressionism, Imprea crafts abstract, immersive soundscapes. Each of his works reflects a different artistic vision, with can be found on labels like Circular Limited and Aarden Records.

Some words from Imprea about his mix:
When I was asked to create a podcast for Hypnosis, I immediately brought to mind the concept of the speed of light in the universe: The speed remains constant, but the perception of time changes. This mix embodies that idea. I leave it to the listener to imagine any kind of story or journey behind this musical proposal.

Shelley, from Bielefeld, Germany, turned her passion for electronic music into a profession in 2019. Through long nights and countless sonic journeys, she discovered the fascination of DJing and decided to use her listening experience to create her own sets. 

Driven by hypnotic and impulsive rhythms, combined with dark and dissociative atmospheres she developed through the years her own style. Today, with precise attention to detail and a very delicate touch. 

With a varying sound across genres of electronic music, Shelley has landed gig’s at venues such as Tresor Berlin and featured on mix series from Indefinite Pitch, Diffuse Reality and Crescent London, to name a few. Finding her musical connection through nature and nightlife, Shelley is ready to push the boundaries with ever-new musical experiences.

Spiral Tribe’s own 69db presents his Wave Arising LIVE set.
As a founding member of Spiral Tribe and R-Zac, and co-founder of Network 23 Recordings, 69db has been a driving force in the Hardtec and Tribe scenes since the early ’90s. His improvised live sets have pushed boundaries for over three decades.
Wave Arising, blending tribal techno with dub elements, was recently hailed by Resident Advisor as a standout performance at Dekmantel 2024.
This mix comes out of his work for the Wave Arising project he shares with dancer Kynsie. The project is aimed at returning focus to improvisation , music and movement as the main focus of our personal development in life. 

The mix is 100% improvised on the liveset and is about tuning in to our deeper selves and opening a channel within.

Bio:

Emanuele Pertoldi was born in a small village in the North East of Italy. After
releasing music with his own name and founding different projects like Evasion
Room Records (with RIccardo D'Agostini), in 2013 he started a new alias, Shaded
Explorer, with the aim to represent himself in a more intimate way.
The description of the project says: "Shaded Explorer lives in a place where the
music is hidden behind a dense fog and dreams are suffocated by an unpromising
reality. This stimulates him to continue his research of magical places around the
world, being them ethereal landscapes, deep cenotes or blue seas. In those places
he discovered and created new sounds, melodies and rhythms that melted
together create soundscapes for escape."
The first release is an album on Eclipsemusic that was also played live by him (just
with hardware) at Club To Club in Turin, one of the most representative festivals in
Italy. Following this concept in 2014 he founded his own intimate imprint Shaded
Explorations, released the second album on Silent Season and an ep on Kabalion
(Hypnus parent label).
With his projects, he played at Tresor (DE), Le Batofar (FR), The Frag (ITA), Fiese
Remise (DE), Griessmuehle (DE), Tribal (UK), Sala X (SPA), BHo! (ITA), and other
parties, clubs and festivals like Club 2 Club, iClaut, Homepage etc.

Wannes drifts from psychedelic rollers to mindbending soundscapes with a feeling of fear aswel as safety. Confidently exploring the boundaries between exhilarating euphoria and the depths of darker universes.

The cosmic wanderer Noah Lyas drifts through the void, gliding past jagged moons and frozen fire, his voice a whisper of unity in the chaos, preaching that even in the wildest corners of the universe - where stars fracture and realms twist - that all is one, and the one is all. “In embracing profound rhythms, we find harmony within ourselves and with the world around us, we will dance to the eternal song of creation.”, he claims.

Noah grew up in a house where music was the dominating factor. With passionate parents who shared a large record collection with their children and with a father as a musician, early contact with different instruments was made as well as performing arts and writing music. In 2020, his first EP titled “Before the Horizon” was released on Profundo Collective, which was founded with the aim of establishing an own record label and coming together as a collective to share the love for profound music and arts. Since then, his music has also been released on such authentic hubs as Oslated, Indefinite Pitch and Eterea.

The mix delivered is an extensive exploration of the deep, dubby and warm sides of Hypnotic Techno, featuring tracks of Noah Lyas’ himself and befriended artists alike, all mixed in a flawless manner to evoke feelings of a cosmic transport to the breathtaking beauty of the far outs.

Big Hands is the main moniker of the artist also known as Andrea Ottomani, Andrea Ottomani Nontet and Otto Von Lumi. Mainly known for his serpentine and labyrinthine electronic productions that found home on labels such as Al Wootton's Trule, Blank Mind, Vargmal and his own Baroque Sunburst.
In recent years, he has developed an intimate and personal electronic sound that owes as much to free jazz and psych-rock as it does to more leaden styles such as dub and techno.

About the set, Andrea said: "This is 50 mins with me and a pair of 1200s - super fluid, rough & jumping between genres. Let's all boycott Spotify."

Aawadh is a French DJ and producer who explores hypnotic tribal rhythms with deep textures. Mainly influenced by organic percussion and immersive atmospheres, his music flows across a wide spectrum of genres. His debut tracks, recently released on Techlab (Budapest) and Aneehli Records (Tbilisi), mark a shift toward rhythmically complex and exploratory forms, which fully take shape on his album Dyadica, recently released on the Annulled Music label.

Embark on a mysterious, progressive, and unpredictable ride where subtle grooves and organic rhythms evolve steadily toward an entrancing, high-intensity climax.

Every year we look forward to October. For most people it symbolises the end of summer and a downturn in mood as the days grow shorter, temperatures cool and winter looms in the distance. But for us, October means only one thing, Amsterdam! This is one of the most important weeks in the electronic music scene, as the whole industry converges on the small Dutch city for a week of networking, connecting and reconnecting and of course some of the biggest parties of the year. Like every year, Deeperfect will be there in full force!
And like every year, we have an amazing release to commemorate this special time of year. For this installment of our annual Amsterdam compilation, we had the pleasure of enlisting our colleagues, label artists and good friends Artslaves to curate and mix the album. We gave the boys free reign to source and select new music, and what they have brought to the table is nothing short of remarkable. The Moan Recordings label-heads have effortlessly distilled their sound into 14 tracks and it is easy to see why they have become such influential personalities in the underground today.
You can expect and edgy, forward thinking selection comprising the minimal and tech house aesthetics with that special x-factor that Artslaves are known for. Experiencing moments of meteorological beauty, calm, energy and bleakness amidst the rain and snow, the pair felt compelled to record their visions and emotions, resulting in this mix which was pieced together in months that followed.

About Binary Thoughts:

The name Binary Thoughts may speak for itself, but there is a much deeper meaning embedded within.

The ancestral way of thinking has always been 'binary'. In order to understand reality in all its complexity we made a world of oppositions (day/night, man/woman). Where the law of "all or nothing rules, there is no in-between. But reality is indeed always more complex and richer than what our 'perception' of the world suggests.

This perception beyond this ìall or nothingî connected Ana Bogatinovska and Jovana Gjorgievska. At first strangers to each other, they met at a music festival in their native country; And after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to make a project that will connect their slightly different but similar taste in electronic music.

Their dark, unpredictable, underground techno and electronic sounds, evident in their DJ sets, reflects the uniqueness of their one of a kind 'binary' sound, able to take you from darkest corners to the deepest and most colorful nebuale of the universe.

Currently they are exploring the vast horizons of techno music and improving their performance skills, with an aim to create their own unique blend of creativity to start producing music on their own.
