Beatport Music Awards Winners 2012 - Best Tech House track: NiCe7 – Point (Gruuv Rec)-
Nicola Daniele and Cesare Marocco – aka NiCe7 – are not new in the worldwide Tech
House scene with over a decade of activity and a good number of high topping charts
releases, remixes and collaborations.
Deep House is another realm where they have succeeded in with their popular “Back to
Basics” EP and then scoring a chart-topping hit with their remix of Jon Cutler’s “It’s
Yours”, both released on Noir Music. That year they also founded their own record label DFloor,
an imprint dedicated to “credible and forward-thinking outputs.”
Since 2005, the year the two paired up, they NiCe7 have released on a great number of
highly respected and renowned underground labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Defected,
Snatch!, Noir Music, Get Physical, Gruuv and Mother to name only a few, always crafting
dance floor bombs for whoever calls on their services and with collaborations/remixes to and
from the likes of Claude VonStroke, Terranova, Steve Bug, Claptone, Romanthony, Riva
Starr, Artbat, Luke Solomon, Audiojack, Luna City Express, Argy, Pirupa, Latmun,
Tiger Stripes, Carlo Lio, Dario D’Attis, Jon Cutler and Dirty Channels among others.
They also mixed the infamous “Defected Miami” compilation back in 2014 and same year
have been guests at Pete Tong’s BBC Radio1 show under his “Future Stars” feature.
Always managing to stimulate great reactions and vibes to the crowds they play to thanks to
their inimitable DJ style mixing up all styles from techy to darker to funkier, this pair
performed at the liks of Cocorico’ in Riccione, Output in NY, Space Ibiza, Watergate in
Berlin, Ministry of Sound London among other in addition to their already-impressive
history of festivals and clubs appearances all over the world.
Keep an eye on this eclectic and unpredictable duo, more interesting releases are lined up
for what’s looking to be one of their most interesting music years to date!

Founder and A&R of @lifeanddeath, Manfredi Romano grew up tour-managing punk bands and organizing left-field music events in Italy around the turn of the Millennium. Having completed his studies in computer science at the University of Pisa, Manfredi went on to form DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music. Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus  in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ in his own right. 

As a performer, Tennis valiantly showcases an astute ability to create intimacy in even the vastest of gatherings. As a respected producer, Romano consistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesised electronic constellations. Known for his Artist Management capabilities is responsible for breaking artists like Tale of Us, Mind Against and Carlita.

Fine chef and restaurant owner, Tennis splits his time between Paris and Miami, where he enjoys riding motorbikes, collecting vintage action-figures and building upon his vinyl record collection - which now numbers over eleven-thousand strong.

Alaia & Gallo are a pair of smart young Italian DJs who have quickly made their musical mark, have turned a number of heads and have laid down some essential sets in the best clubs round Europe. It was back in 2013 that they secured their first club hit with the thrilling house grooves and emotive vibes of ‘Beat of the Drum’. The track shot up through the Beatport charts and eventually hit number one in the house genre. It announced the pair had fully arrived and since then there has been no looking back. 

Every tune this pair has put out has picked up plenty of plays from big name DJs such as Claptone, as well as getting many plays on various radio stations around the world and also being included on Defected Records In The House Ibiza 2016 release. More recently this dynamic duo have turned out ‘Who Is He?’ which was signed to the celebrated Soul Heaven Records label. With lush soul as well as feel good house grooves, the cut became a real crossover success and has won the pair many new fans. Their production style takes cues from many different genres, not just house, and as such each new record they put out is fresh and exciting. With such a diverse take on DJing — which takes them all over Europe — and production, it is no wonder Alaia & Gallo really stand out in the modern scene. Expect much more from this hotly tipped pair in the coming months.

Launching early June 2013, DFTD is a breakout label to Defected Records. Focusing on fresh, new and undiscovered talent from around the globe - along with the occasional curveball release from established acts, DTFD has released music from the likes of Guti, Jonas Rathsman, Forrest, Andre Lodemann and NiCe 7 over the past 5 years.

DFTD complements its parent label and has a more diverse musical remit, releasing a broad range of electronic music, focussing on quality, discerning dance music.

CIAO RECORDS:

Ciao Recs is an independent label whose aim is to break the rules with the establishment. Its punk attitude is what connects all the projects that the label supports now and that will support in the future. Things couldn't be different if you think that the whole project is managed by an artist who modified the history of contemporary electronic music thanks to his iconoclast attitude and his ability of thinking outside the box. Ciao Recs wants to be perceived as an "house of freaks", a music platform with a strong yet unpredictable aesthetics. Ciao Recs does not contain palm oil.

CIAOMANIA:

Ciao Mania is the label's showcase, a field invasion. A sort of musical royal-rumble in which the identities of the four deejays behind the decks emerge creating an heterogenous artistic performance. No confetti, no cakes, no champagne. Only substance.

Sidney Charles has mastered the art of high impact house music that comes with a signature sense of depth, melody and groove. That unique style has made the Hamburg-born DJ, producer and label boss one of the underground's most prominent names: last year was his busiest ever with multiple chart-topping releases, high profile support from Radio 1 and standout gigs across the world. In 2023, the proven tastemaker will focus on his already influential Heavy House Society label and launch its new residency at Watergate in Berlin.
The last year has seen Sidney make an indelible mark on the scene. He played in Ibiza at the likes of Amnesia, DC10 and Cova Santa. He played to large crowds across several South American countries and all over the US from Miami to Las Vegas to New York and LA. He played in key Spanish cities at Input, Fabrik Madrid, Weekend Beach Festival, frequently visited Italy, played in the Netherlands multiple times a month and cemented his close relationship at UK hotbeds like Manchester's Warehouse Project and Leeds' Mint Warehouse.
Whether playing to a close and compact crowd in a small basement or tearing up a vast festival main stage, Sidney knows how to join the dots between the past and the present. He manages to open up new house worlds with his educated selections but never forgets to blow up the dance floor in the process. Just like his productions, his DJ sets are full of surprises, twists and turns but also rooted in physical grooves. His love of jazz, hip hop and funk and his vast knowledge of the 90s sounds always shine through with plenty of heavy bass which makes the Sidney Sound so irresistible.
Years after his first breakout hit, Sidney continues to hit the top of the charts with his newest creations. In 2022 there were three separate number ones on three different labels in Beatport's genre charts. They came on his own label, Eastenderz and Hot Creations, while he has also signed to the likes of No Art, Locus, PIV and Do Not Sleep amongst many more.
Sidney's Heavy House Society is already a respected go-to outlet for solid and innovative house music. It mixes up releases from top-tier artists and well curated new school talents such as Kolter (aka Djoko), Luuk Van Dijk, Locklead, Madvilla, Luca Donzelli, M-High and many more. As well as a collab EP with Kolter in 2023, Sidney will also head up the label nights, Heavy House Society, under the famous LED ceiling of Berlin's cult club Watergate. He has solo EPs in the works for the label as well as Cécille Records, MicroHertz and PIV; and will get in the studio with East End Dubs. All this is proof that Sidney Charles is at the top of his game.

With a strong vision and aesthetic, Forrest curates a broad mix of dance floor tones, distinctive vocals, and mesmerizing lyrics, which has resonated amongst his peers, from heavyweights Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Solomun, Seth Troxler, Cajmere & Dennis Ferrer. 

Having toured throughout the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Russia, France, Turkey, Austria, Ukraine & Switzerland, the Montreal frontman quickly secured his name by turning in an impressive catalogue of quality releases on some of the most critically respected labels such as : ANJUNADEEP, DEFECTED, CROSSTOWN REBELS, MOON HARBOUR, GET PHYSICAL & TURBO.
