Welcome to the 118th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. A weekly podcast that brings you the best deep music. This weeks set is compiled and mixed by El Choop! 

Bio:

El Choop, AKA Harvey Jones, found his way to electronic music from the lesser-trodden path of classical and Spanish guitar. Born and raised in a small town in mid-Wales, Jones came face-to-face with the wily, darker reaches of drum & bass at forest parties deep in the hills. Inspired by stories of the 909 and other drum machines, it wasn’t long before Jones became a fully-fledged hardware fanatic.

Before too long, Bristol called, and with it came a softer sound, as Jones discovered and was in turn inspired by producers like Rod Modell and Mauritzio. With the urban landscape as his backdrop and playground, Jones began sculpting his own sound.

Now obsessed with distorted delays and gritty echoes, he spends his time weaving what is most easily described as dub techno, but the reality is there is no proper name for it. There is no proper name because El Choop’s music, much like the man behind it, is part of a new generation of producers on the dusky edges of the scene: breaking boundaries, firing loops, and, as you might expect, making feet tap and heads spin.

El Choop joins the Default Position roster for 2016 with his lush new dub techno EP "A Jaded City" coming very soon.

Welcome to the 124th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. This weekly posted podcast brings you the best deep electronic music. This week is Claudio Casparini his turn to bring a more dubtech, dubhouse related mix. Enjoy!

Bio:

Claudio was born in Turin (Italy) at the end of the eighties. As a young man claudio he approaches the music by playing guitar,in adolescence begins to fall in love of the electronic music. Atmospheric sounds , hot pads , deep bass and melodic leads were for him love at first listen! At the age of 15 he buy his first deck and began to collect vinyls, techno, house, progressive and ambient are the preferred styles. Claudio at 17 age begins playing at private parties, in 2008 some of his sets are transmitted on radio exogroove. At 20 age Claudio approaches the world of keyboards and began playing the piano and organ. Specialized as operator electronic, Claudio begins to repair old analog synthesizers, the buying and selling are his hobby. He is currently studying the sound synthesis and modulation to recreate a day a his personal style.

Deep Consequences Podcast # 13 - Cathy

Feather Beds is the musical moniker of Dublin artist, Michael Orange. Play Dead is the first single to be taken from the second album, which was recorded in Montreal and Dublin and is scheduled for release in 2017. Mixed by Stephen Shannon (Adrian Crowley, Strands), Play Dead follows on from last year's critically acclaimed debut album, The Skeletal System.

Using field recordings, samples and found sounds and a dark, melancholic undercurrent, whilst still retaining a twisted pop sensibility – Feather Beds creates music that occupies the space between fragile electronica and a shoegaze aesthetic of noise and texture. It’s music that takes influence from pop to drone to noise/art rock to folk and everything in between. Formerly a drummer with Dublin bands, The Star Department, Subplots and Autumn Owls, he has spent the past number of years writing and recording with these bands, releasing records and touring extensively in Europe and North America.

I had a free spot this month so I took the challenge to mix an ambient set. So I searched as always my harddisk and collection and put this mix together. A more deep and haunting set bringing dark ambient and drone music together. So enjoy!!

Bio:

 I started Deep Electronics more then 3 years ago with idea to combine photography with electronic music. For a couple of years now I’ve been photographing everything from nature to abstract, people. Especially with the travels I make for work. And I had the idea to combine it with the electronics music I love such as techno, dubtechno, ambient music (especially dark ambient and drone), IDM, deep techno. I wanted the artwork to be as the music.
