Dear Undersounders, we are finally back with a brand new podcast after a long summer break. This time our series features the London based vinyl purist Andrew James Gustav. Andrew is a newcomer to the London music scene, although he's been collecting records for many years. His talent and impeccable taste in electronic music didn't take long to be noticed, and in few months he had the chance to play at top quality events and venues such as Toi Toi Musik in London and Club der Visionaere in Berlin. We are sure you will be pleasantly intrigued by this special mix and will start to follow Andrew James Gustav, and soon have the chance to listen to his special records ;)

Bio:
Aos (Kayla Waldorf) and Archivist (Alex Markey) are DJs, producers and party organizers with the Secondnature collective in Seattle, in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Through their work with Secondnature, they have been involved behind the scenes with some of the best parties in the city, including events with Voices From the Lake, Abdulla Rashim, and Silent Servant. As DJs, they have played alongside the likes of Eric Cloutier, Heiroglyphic Being, Tin Man, and Efdemin.
Aos and Archivist draw their inspiration from a history of throwing outdoor gatherings in rural Eastern Washington, where the combination of incredible natural environments and mesmerizing techno served as a musical education and helped shape their deep and hypnotic style.

We observe from a distance, looking through windows illuminated from within—yellow squares breaking into the night. 

We see a dinner table set for a meal, an empty chair, a man stretching, and a woman laughing on the phone. These moments are not meant for us; they are offered freely in the quiet theatre of the evening. As we pass, we collect these fragments: gestures, glows, and stillness. 

Dub techno unfolds similarly—observing without intruding, echoing lives we'll never truly understand. Each track serves as a pane of glass, with each sound reflecting the rhythm of someone else's life.

Bio/
I create experimental underground sound as an electronic musician, producer, and remixer, focusing primarily on Dub Techno, Ambient, and Deep genres. I have collaborated with various labels, including Crossfade Sounds, ECOUL SND, Slope Point, Superordinate Dub Waves, Secret Domain, Echoshapes, Hello Strange, Proton Radio, Pirahna Siberia Dub, Liberty Rhythm, Seesaw Records, and Techenie. My sound features a unique approach to detail, creating a distinctive and recognisable style influenced by various musical genres. "Cosmic vibrations combine with modern electronic rhythms, drawing you into a deep atmospheric sound, where hypnotic patterns infinitely envelop and transport you into free space."

Kostas Staikos, known as Substak, is an Athens-based artist and music producer who began his journey in 2011. For our 99th edition, we’re honoured to host Belgian producer Owl, whose meditative mix feels like a balm for overstimulated minds. Known for his collaborations as Glÿph (with Clearlight) and OZOH, Owl has been crafting deep sonic journeys since 2013 - seamlessly blending ambient, autonomic, and deep techno into a sound that’s as introspective as it is expansive.

With releases on some of our favorite labels like Silent Season, re:st, Lowless, and Huinali, Owl is a master of subtle textures and emotions. His mix for Unrush gently guides you through beautiful soundscapes and soothing atmospheres - the perfect companion to unwind, reset, and breathe a little deeper. It might just become your best friend in stressful times.

For the 322nd instalment of our series, we are bringing you a spectacular mix by the American producer Sebby Kowal.

Sebby Kowal is an American ambient & dub techno producer. He has been making ambient music since 2021 and dub techno since 2024. Sebby would describe his music as minimal with delicate textures and field recordings. He has been on a number of labels such as Rohs!/Lontano Series, Drift Deeper Recordings, Shimmering Moods Records, Atlantea Records, Florina Cassettes, Deep Electronics, Cold Tear Records and more.
Sebby believes when you create ambient and dub techno music, the possibilities are endless. In the future Sebby has a number of new projects coming up from mixes, compilations, Ep's and new albums.

"When people listen to my music, I would like them to feel relaxed and to be at peace."

A welcome return to the series for our friend Faru with an inspired hybrid mix that captures the bittersweet essence of summer's farewell.

Faru is a Berlin-based musician, designer and explorer. He is crafting Drone and Ambient music from his nature recordings from around the world. His works have been described as a natural orchestra in a dream-like manner. Exploring movements of nature, noise and harmonics. Labels include Silent Season, Faint and Carpe Sonum (FAX)

About the mix he said:
"This hybrid mix drifts through layers of sound that feel like half-remembered dreams and moments suspended between past and present. It carries a sense of nostalgia, of looking back at places and times that still echo somewhere within. The sounds paint old memories into focus, though never quite as they were. Sometimes blurred, sometimes distorted, always shaped by the way we remember them as individuals. Textures and gentle warmth intertwine, like memories fading in and out of view. It’s music for reflection, for wandering through old feelings, and for revisiting those fragments of time that never completely leave us."
