Warm, Kalt, Regen, Sonne, Eiseskälte...das Wetter konnte sich Anfang Februar wohl nicht so recht entscheiden.
Da man als Sommermensch die Sonne und den Frühling/Sommer vermisst, hat man musikalisch im Februar einen Ausflug in den Frühling gewagt. Und dank eines sehr warmen Februars hat man doch nen passenden Soundtrack für den Februar gefunden und jetzt natürlich für den kommenden Frühling sowieso ;)

Mit diesem Set wird einem warm ums Herz! Genießt die Sonne, genießt das Set! Das Leben ist schön :)

We are back in action once again bringing everyone a brand new journey through the many corners of Drum & Bass music, mixing it up once more with a fresh new selection of tracks including more exclusives to this new DnB mix. Multiman returns from Mexico and is now back with myself (Hushcat) to join in on the conversation. 

This time around we seem to have a deeper progression of tracks overall and the mixing remains as tight as we can get it. A brand new completed track from ourselves gets its first play exclusive under the name Infection, going down the roller end of DnB tracks with a progressing deep bassline and some original dark style vocals added from myself. In addition we also have a few more exclusives from other artists including Mavamatics who appeared briefly in the last show with his new unreleased track One Nation. A collaborative high energy and uplifting track was sent to us from Distrax who recently worked on a new one with Sophistics under the name "Sophistic N Distrax - Devotion" which is currently ureleased and exclusive. Also Higher Level Records have kindly passed on their new EP [Elevated] which has just been launched earlier this month featuring four new DnB tracks, of which we have included a couple, one of which comes from the mighty Subsonik who we've previously featured in the past. His new track "Subsonik -TBT" is a gritty oldskool sounding Amen track with a slight trancey vibe to it, and what an amazing track it is, reminding me of John B's Trance N Bass Cd complilation from years back. Lastly Brando (also on the Elevated EP) is included towards the end where things go a bit smoother and purer in the liquid end of DnB, with his new track "Brando - EM Glo". Everytime I hear this track it seems to remind me of the Resident Evil save room theme ;). 

Finally I'd like to also thank Mike AKA Flexstyle who's kindly visited the studio during a trip to the UK all the way from Phoenix, Arizona US, and provided us with some killer material for future voice overs. Expect to hear a few in Dub Cutz Vol 11. You should check out his page on soundcloud for some awsome music too.

Martin Books veröffentlichte, nach der Anfrage von Hito (ENTER.) den Track "moi baby" 2014 auf der Ibiza ENTER. Compilation auf dem Label Minus.
Mit der Zeit entstanden aus der Sympathie zwischen Martin und Hito eine tolle Freundschaft. Beide entschlossen sich schnell mit guten Ideen und der Sängerin (Emilia Tarland) einen Song aufzunehmen.
Endstanden ist eine bombige Clubnummer mit dem Namen Slow Motion.
Um die EP noch internationaler zu gestalten, ließen sie sich den Track von Größen der Szene wie Simina Grigoriu & Ron Flatter remixen.
After Martin Books was requested by Hito to release his track „moi baby“ on the ENTER. Compilation for the label minus in 2014 they kept going on to work together. From being sympathic eachother arised a great friendship.
As a result they come up with a bombtrack called „Slow Motion“. In addition Simina Grigoriu & Ron Flatter deliver their interpretations of „Slow Motion“. The EP is completed by „CQ“ of Martin Books.

One of the fastest rising Producers at the moment is the elusive SevenDoors.
A passion for music is evident, carefully crafting audio with feeling and emotion. SevenDoors is very much a concept, developed over many years and now ready to be unleashed upon the dance community.
His track ’Movement Of Whale’ (out on Diynamic) was among the Top 10 Tunes at Sankeys Ibiza for this season. Der dritte Teil unserer deep story Saga wird uns von der Nachteule Andreas Bucher erzählt. Ein junger unerschrockener Abenteurer der sich in die Wildniss wagte, um den Wanderflug der Nachtvögel zu studieren. Dabei hat er viele interessante Geschichten und Geräusche entdeckt, die er zu einer unfassbaren sphärischen und mystischen Erzählung verwoben hat.

Andreas ist ein großartiger  Newcomer, der uns schon seit längerer Zeit mit seinen spärischen Sets begeistert. Schaut doch mal bei ihm vorbei, er wird sich bestimmt freuen.

So mancher Aberglaube rankt sich um die Nachtvögel. Bereits im antiken Rom glaubten viele, dass der Eulenruf den nahen Tod eines Menschen voraussagt. Auch im Mittelalter galten sie als "Totenvögel": Der kuwitt-Ruf des Wald- und des Steinkauzes, der wegen der vom Kerzenlicht angelockten Insekten so manches Haus umflog, in dem eine nächtliche Totenwache stattfand, wurde als "Komm mit" (ins Jenseits) gedeutet. Das Heulen des Waldkauzes galt vielen als "wilde Jagd", als nächtlich dahinstürmendes Geisterheer.
Noch im 20. Jahrhundert wurden lebende Eulen mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln an Scheunentore genagelt. Viele Landbewohner glaubten, ihren Hof so vor Blitzschlag, Feuer, Hagel und Seuchen schützen zu können.

Ebenso dichtet man ihnen aber besondere Klugheit an: Ihr Aussehen erinnert an einen Menschen mit Brille, bei dem man assoziiert, dass er viel liest und ebenso viel weiß. Deshalb findet man Eulen häufig dort als Wappentier oder Logo, wo es um Wissen geht - beispielsweise in Wappen von Schulen, Universitäten oder Verlagen.

Diese deep story ist ein dickes Danke an die Crew vom Klangzirkus aus der Nähe von Nürnberg. Wir wurden eingeladen einen Blick hinter die Kulissen zu werfen. Hier nun unser Bericht vom Zirkusbesuch.

Gesagt, getan - Spontanität gehört zu unseren Stärken, Glück im Zeitplan kommt dazu.
Dank modernster Technik konnte am Samstagmorgen mit leichter Fracht der Reise aus dem Flachland Hannovers in die zumindest hügligere Gegend Neumarkts in der Oberpfalz entgegen getreten werden.
Elektronische Unterhaltung, sicher gespeichert auf dem hosentaschenfähigen Dompteurstock, Wiedergabemöglichkeit gesichert durch den ohrenumgebenden Zylinder, 2 Dosen reinste Energie für eine aufmerksame Reise – rein ins stürmische Nass.
Nach gutem Durchkommen und freundlichem Empfang seitens des Gastwirtes, kamen wir in den Genuss der heimischen Traditionsküche und erfrischenden langersehnten Hopfens sowie einem persönlichen Kennenlernen der sympathischen Klangzirkus-Crew und dem Zirkusdirektor. Gesättigt und zufrieden ging es weiter in Richtung Manege.
Dort erwarteten uns aufwendige, geometrische Lichtinstallationen und detailgetreue Kunstwerke, die eine mitreißende Zirkusvorstellung versprachen. 
Punkt 21h wurde die Manege vom beheimateten Artisten eröffnet und zugleich fingen die ersten Gäste an, im Beat mitzuschwingen.
Um 22h stand dann der deep storie resident the Doubljuh auf dem Programm. Die ersten Beats wurden sicher durch die Manage dirigiert, die Zirkusbesucher fingen an zu johlen und ließen sich mitreißen von den heiteren Klängen. Viel zu schnell war schon alles wieder vorbei.
Auch die weiteren Vorstellungen rissen die Zirkusbesucher in ihren Bann und die glücklichen Geschichtenerzähler aus dem Norden celebrierten voller Freude mit den anderen Zirkusbesuchern und der Klangzirkus-Crew die wunderbare Atmosphäre. Besonders begeistert hat uns dabei der Bassdompteur Butch Cassidy. Geschickt lies er den düsteren und Technoiden Bass durch die Menge ziehen und hatte dabei stehts eine spielerische Kontrolle über das Geschehen. Eine Mischung aus Ekstase und Hingabe erfüllte die Besucher. Ein wahrhaft inspirierender Moment. So ergriffen wir noch völlig benommen die Chance und baten den zauberhaften Domptuer uns seine Geschichte zu erzählen.
Nach vollendetem Zirkusprogramm ging es müde und kaputt in die naheliegende Schaustellerunterkunft, um sich für die anstehende Rückreise zu wappnen. Nach ausgiebigem und dringend notwendigem Erholungsschlaf ging es zurück in Richtung Heimat. Im Gepäck viele tolle neue Bekanntschaften, neue Impressionen, wunderbaren Erinnerungen und natürlich eine neue deep storie vom Bassdompteur Butch Cassisy.

Eine Geschichte aus dem Klangzauberwald soll uns heute erheitern.  Konzipiert wurde diese von mystischen Wesen aus genau jenen verwunschenen Stück Land irgendwo im Großraum Erfurt. Das Kollektiv "du lebst" hat uns dieses Mal ein Komplettpacket aus Bild, Ton und Text geliefert und somit eine Synthese im Inneren Kreis des Zauberwalds erschaffen. Das hat es bei deep stories so noch nicht gegeben. Der Großmeister des guten Tons war Jøułe. Freunde und Familie fassten dann ihre Emotionen zum Takt der Musik in Bild und Text.

Diese wunderschöne Beschreibung kam dabei heraus!

Leichtfüßig, leise und schallheimlich schleichen sich wärmende Töne durch den Gehörgang deines Ohrs, massieren sanftmütig dein Trommelfell, bis sich wahrnehmbare Rhythmen und Melodien herauskristallisieren. Es sind kleine Tropfen des Glücks, die auf ihrem Weg bis zu den Synapsen deines Hirns ein Rinnsal bilden und immer mehr Klänge erkennen lassen, die das Glückszentrum deines Fühl-und Denkapparates stimulieren. Stetig wächst das Rinnsal und das flüssige Klanggut bildet kleine Wellen, die sich über die Nervenläufe deines Körpers in immer tiefere Regionen ausbreiten. Trägheit und Kälte verflüchtigen sich im warmen Strom der Rhythmen, bringen das rote Lebensgold zum Pulsieren und erwecken deine ermüdeten Muskeln zu neuem Leben. Ein kleiner Kosmos aus Tönen und Takten entsteht allmählich in der Welt deines Organismus und bringt Dir das größte Geschenk, dass seit Anbeginn der Zeit existiert: Energie.
Jøułe ist Mitglied des Veranstaltungskollektivs „Du Lebst“ und verwöhnt seine Zuhörer mit deepen Beats zum Tanzen und Wohlfühlen. „Du Lebst“ ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe von „Der gute Ton e.V.“ und vereint Musik, Soziokultur und Kunst in verschiedenen nicht kommerziellen Veranstaltungskonzepten. In unserer Kindheit hat bestimmt jeder schon mal durch eines dieser Zauberröhrchen geschaut, welches die Welt um einen herum mit Magie und Verstreuung erfüllt hat. Eine Konzipierung und Konstruktion der Phantasie aus Licht, Formen und Farben.
Diese bunte Erinnerung fügt sich gut ins Bild unserer Gedanken an die aufregenden und ereignisreichen Tage der Jugend. Tage die uns im nachhinein zumeist positiv im Gedächtnis bleiben. Die wunderschön langen Sommerferien, ausschlafen am Wochenende, Freunde zu jeder Zeit verfügbar. Natürlich war nicht alles immer Friede, Freude Eierkuchen und auch die Streitereien mit den Eltern oder das erste gebrochene Herz blitzen wieder auf. Im Vergleich mit dem Erwachsenendasein überwiegt jedoch das warme Gefühl der Geborgenheit.
Auf den Erwachsenen wartet das Damoklesschwert der Verantwortung. Der Schwarz-Weiß-Filter wird auf das Leben gesetzt und die Freiheit in die Ketten der flexiblen Arbeitszeit gelegt. Zumindest bekommt man beim Anblick vieler Ü25er dieses Gefühl. Die Leichtigkeit des Seins scheint abhanden gekommen zu sein. Der graue Alltag hält viele gefangen und lässt sie das Bunte der Welt übersehen. Damit ein Ausbruch gelingen kann, Bedarf es der Magie der Kindheit, die vielleicht mit einem Blick durch ein Zauberröhrchen für eine kurze Zeit wieder aufleben kann. So können auch die akuellen vielen grauen Gewittertage ganz neuen Glanz erhalten.

Für uns haben Followill und Wilma einen Blick durchs Kaleidoskop in die Phantasiewelt aus Formen und Farben gewagt. Ihre gesammelten Eindrücke haben sie für uns in einer treibenden deep story festgehalten.
Wir sind begeistert von den tollen Möglichkeiten, die uns aufgezeigt werden. Wir hoffen ihr auch!

Deep Stories is a collective of DJ/producers, writers and photographers with a passion for storytelling in all possible ways. In their universe, sounds, words and images form a complementary unity, so that the audience can absorb all these different sensations at the same time. With this unprecedented vision in mind, DJ’s The Doubljuh and Kork founded the Deep Stories podcast series in 2016, which was enthusiastically received by a rapidly growing community. By amalgamating different lifestyle areas (literature, photography, music) many people quickly became enthused by this innovative project and within a year the Deep stories Soundcloud channel reached the mark of 10K followers before smashing the 20K milestone the following year. Driven by the enormous positive feedback, the team has expanded and founded its own music blog. This allows the audience to stay informed about new releases, events and upcoming gigs, in addition to weekly charts and tips for the weekend planning for electronic music lovers. The latest addition is the new booking feature, by which the artists of the Deep Stories crew can be booked for deep house and techno parties. Thus, the Deep Stories project consists of three components: the podcast series, the music blog and the booking area. Over the years the team has also grown and many partnerships have been sealed. Among other things, there is a close collaboration with other podcast channels, travel blogs and even street artists, fueling yet even more creative minds…
