This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

We give a warm welcome to Sydney-based artist Trinity, taking center stage in our 323rd episode.

Trinity is a Sydney-based DJ, producer, and performer with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Trinity has earned the respect and love of fans, dancers and peers from Sydney to Berlin — and many destinations in between. Her abundant and diverse talents, her famous work ethic, and her uncompromising musical vision have made her a force to be reckoned with in the world of techno.
Trinity was billed alongside Richie Hawtin at the Vivid Sydney festival at Sydney Opera House; headlined Sydney’s world-famous Mardi Gras celebration; and has played at Tresor, Tomorrowland and many other clubs and festivals across Europe. Other stops on her musical travels have included New Zealand, India and Amsterdam’s famed Red Light Radio.
Each of Trinity’s live shows is marked by her unique versatility: from deep dub-techno, acid and electro to peaktime techno — all combining for a distinct and moving soundscape. Trinity is also one-half of boundary-breaking live act Phax Machine (along with partner Analogue Resistance), with the duo focusing especially on tougher breakbeat and classic rave sounds. 
Trinity’s recorded output includes collaborations with Luke Hess, Eric Cloutier, Headless Horseman and XDB, with her releases making their way into some of the best record shops in the world including Berlin’s Hard Wax. Trinity also runs A&R for Australian techno label Nightime Drama.

Deep Breakfast 323 ~ Trinity

As summer's warmth dissolves into twilight, grey clouds gather on the horizon, bearing the whispers of rain and the pine forest's scent yields to the caress of a fresh breeze. We are delighted to unveil Estimulo's latest mix for Deep Breakfast Series, a sonic journey to envelop your senses.

Estimulo is an avid record digger and die-hard music aficionado with extensive vaults of records since the late 80s. In his club DJ sets he’s on the lookout for those special moments of dancefloor salvation, oscillating between Deep House and Techno’s classics and more obscure electronic treasures, with splashes of Electro & Disco / Funk and with an extended broad perspective on genres and epochs not forgetting recent and upcoming gems. It’s not purely a retrofuturistic thing, rather he strives to connect music of different epochs to form a holistic flow. His special passion is to make his own edits / versions of the music he loves. With his label Mixomat Recordings (founded in 2004) he has been putting out early releases by artists such as
Marco Nega, immer.Chic (Workshop), Rezkar (Running Back, Meakusma) and Serendipity/Rai Scott (Inner Shift Music / 2DeepSoul).
His weekly Radio Show (EstimuloShow @ mixomat.org since 2007, also on Cashmere Radio since 2017) is regarded as a mainstay by many in the scene.
The last years have seen Estimulo taking the vibe to places like the US, Chile, Argentina, Australia, UK, France, Canada, Norway, Poland, Ukraine and Jordan on his DJ tours.
Estimulo used to co-run the futura event agency and DJ crew, that has been causing some stir in the Berlin scene with their proceedings in beloved underground spots like ://about blank, Paloma, Horst and Chez Jacki/Maria am Ostbahnhof.

About the mix he said:
"It's like a sequence of childhood memories. You close your eyes and remember science fiction films with the infinite universe and thousands of stars, a summer beach with your parents and siblings, then a spaceship with robots running around excitedly and making beeping noises. A few minutes later, you're beamed back to Earth and standing on the top of a mountain, gazing down into the wide valley, then a long walk through the forest along a mountain river. Or you hear the large church organ. In the end, it's all about aural beauty. I invite this music to give me and all listeners goosebumps. Nostalgia is only part of the equation here; i reckon timelessness is even more important. I hope you enjoy the journey through my memories and moods."

Deep Breakfast 324 ~ Estimulo

Bird of Passage began in January of 2023. The loose idea was to compose a full album of piano pieces with an overarching atmosphere, not a concept, that tied them all together. By April I had composed and recorded one piece per month leaving me with a total of four piano pieces.

At this point in time I felt slightly burned out and uninspired, and so rather than forcing myself to compose more (which I had already unsuccessfully attempted numerous times); instead I approached a number of artists and invited them to contribute to the four tracks that were completed.

Iker Garmendia, who releases music as Sugaar Pan, was the first artist that I reached out to and he generously contributed improvised flute parts to the first three tracks. The flutes are beautifully minimalistic and he overdubbed different flute tracks to create a sort of a woodwind cushion.

Simon McCorry, who releases music under his own name and under many other guises, contributed cello to track one and three. On the first track, Simon made a dry recording with the mic at some distance from the cello (1m to 1.5m) to fit in with the rest of the recording. He kept quite a lot of rosin on the bow to keep it gritty to fit in with the pianos distortion and played closish to the bridge for the same reason. He didn’t use any overdrive or anything, leaving it to the bow, cello & pre amp to do this. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

Jez Thelwell, who operates the Moolakii Club Audio Interface label and performs and releases music under the name Loopatronica, contributed an amazing rhythmic part for track two that complements the opening piano refrain before building into an epic climax.

Around this time I had begun noticing that several artists were releasing entire albums consisting of nothing but remixes. The concept of remixing really started to fascinate me and I started becoming genuinely curious to hear what these tracks I had been working on might sound
like in the hands of another. It would also have the added benefit of (probably) doubling the length of my rather short album.

Simon McCorry, The New Emphatic, hyacinth, and autumna each remixed one of the original four tracks. Their versions are a welcome complement and intriguing contrast to the original four tracks. They all had complete creative freedom to approach the remix in whatever way they desired and I’m so grateful for their generosity and for what they made.

The solo piano versions of the first three tracks are the same as the original tracks, with the exception of track one which, on the solo version, is extended by almost two minutes.
