The sophomore EP from dubstep artist SEEK, comes out swinging with his new 3 track release, rightfully titled ‘Invasion.’ Pulling from a heavier sound palette, influences of riddim, neuro, and halftime are boiled down to its core elements that gives a nod to the classic, deeper sound of dubstep, while putting his own stamp on the genre. The Invasion EP opens up with ‘Orbit’, a wonky stepper that is constantly folding and collapsing on top of itself, while the second track ‘Invaders’ is reminiscent of classic wonky dubstep with a fresh approach. The closing track ‘The Hunt’ breaks through all barriers and smashes its way out the soundsystem with a gritty and playful approach. These tracks did some serious damage during 2023, and we are very excited to put these tracks out into the ether.

Each month we will put up a pack of samples from a different producer, this month we have a pack from the mighty District (Chestplate)! Over the following month we want producers out there to download the samples and get to work creating beats. At the end of the month, we'll compile the most interesting results into a mix. And release the dopest beats for free via Deep, Dark & Dangerous.

This is NOT a competition, it's a chance to interact and collaborate with other producers of the Deep, Dark & Dangerous persuasion. It's all about stimulating creativity, getting people involved and inspired. Because the end product is a mix, tracks don't necessarily need to be fully laid out, an intro leading to a sick drop concept could be just as powerful as a 5 minute long masterpiece. Just get in there and get your hands dirty, the more interesting and original the better!

This is the starting point, to get the creativity flowing. Get to work on some beats, see where the inspiration takes you.
