Newly Signed to Pressed Records, the New Zealand based duo ʻPerverseʼ, are set to release their debut EP” for Pressed Records entitled; – Rouge Wave –

Perverse are rapidly building a prolific reputation and armed with a formidable catalogue of previous releases. They have found their productions unleashed in the sets of Biome, Seven, VIVEK and J.Kenzo, delivering trademark clean bassweight, razor sharp percussion and desolate atmospherics. Heavy radio play is further testament to their current prowess, receiving airtime on internationally acclaimed stations including Jay 5ive and Crisis on their respective Rinse FM shows, and on scene stalwart BunZer0ʼs Sub.fm show which has long been a tide marker for exciting talent.

Inspired by a range of genres from the 808ʼs and lean of Hiphop to the twisted rhythms of hard Drum and Bass luminaries Noisia, Black Sun Empire and Spor, Perverse were drawn to production through their collective love of bass heavy music. Purveyors of intensely dark and uncompromising eyes-down beats, their sound is exemplified by a precise control over shuddering sub frequencies and a minimal sparseness of construction reminiscent of early Loefah or Kryptic Minds. Whilst their musical influences are notable, Perverse bring their own unique and refreshing take on the sound, with a repertoire of versatile riddims infused with intelligent syncopated beats and chest caving low end.

Ever versatile Dutch producer Waeys invites along a couple of friends for his latest dancefloor-primed drum & bass offering for Critical Music.

Title track ‘Arrivata’ sees Waeys link with fellow new school leader, Gino, who brings his manic, trademark energy along for a bone crushing, double distorted smasher, featuring one of the hardest drum rolls you’ll ever hear.

Waeys goes it alone on ‘Dredge’, unloading his insane sound design skills over a tightly wound drum groove and bustling percussion for a satisfyingly weird sonic slugger.

Last, but not least, fresh talent Cosmo gets involved on ‘Let Off’, shutting things down with a moody slice of minimal jump up, dominated by an off-kilter, chattering bassline that gleefully chews you ear off.

Introducing two new tunes from a rising producer currently tearing up the American Bass Music game and receiving support from genre definers like Mala and Joe Nice. Dubs Alive presents: Saule, The Woods. These tracks crush the soundsystem with Dubstep influenced rhythms and impact, truly defined by the sub bass lines. The release speaks most to the dancefloor with a heavy punch, utilizing haunting tones, menacing ambience and tastefully sparse vocal elements to enhance the mood. Subtle Mind then implores their uniquely melodic sound, pushing the depths of the original with a heavily swung remix. This monstrous single adds to the ever developing modern Dub sound which defines Dubs Alive Records.
