Basel’s Timnah joins our series with a long-anticipated recording from last year’s inaugural pe:rsona, an intimate gathering from the minds at Positive Education. Over the years Timnah has established a reputation for expansive and visionary selections without equal, lending her voice to the beloved Amentia and A Walking Contradiction collectives and leading audiences into captivating unknowns worldwide. Recorded live in the French countryside at the peak of summer, Timnah’s set smolders with delicate tension, lacing outward like tendrils upon shattering glass. Freshly arrived in the scene, su:zy is a Brussels-based artist blending deep and atmospheric sounds with progressive music from the early days. Former professional dancer and now part of the Gimic Radio team, he navigates between the different layers and atmospheres of club music from floaty dubby techno to IDM and ear-prickling textures.

He tries to incorporate his sensitivity for dancing into a unique journey leading the audience through a sonic and introspective musical trip.

Expansive yet dialed in with tireless precision, Haruka’s set transitions between eyes-down introspection and buoyant, infectious energy with ease. After an extended pause for much needed rest and slow reflection, the Patterns of Perception crew is excited to return to our mix series with fresh energy and a stellar new mix from Jasmin, aka softi (@jazz_brown). 

Soulful, breezy and groove-laden, softi's Patterns of Perception 122 shimmers with her kaleidoscopic, minimal sound. Weightless sparks float and flicker in dim light. Time dilates; seasons drift.

A few thoughts from Jasmin:

Hey Jasmin, how’s it going? What's been happening for you lately?
I’m well, I’m currently living between Lisbon and London this summer which has been a dream! Great food, beach sessions and writing music. It’s been a wild 3 months and I’m just getting myself ready for the seasons changing!

What can you tell us about your mix?
For this mix I wanted to mould my love of groovy minimal and psychedelic tones for the moody season ahead, which is usually my signature sound! I have been producing a lot of this recently and some of my unreleased bits are exclusively inside 💜

⁠Is there a track or tracks that are extra special for you?
I’d probably say my own productions are the special to me as it reminds me of how much I have developed as a producer and artist. I love connecting with the tracks and being able to create my own atmospheric world for listeners to get lost in. But one track that I always come back to is "bluep" by Underground City Loop (a producer from Aus). I have been playing this track for years and it has every sonic element you'd want from a track - low end sub groove with dark melodic synths.

OCCA @ Mostra Festival 2025 (Barcelona)

It’s our pleasure to feature our friend @tangeladj for the 32nd episode of the Herbarium mix series. She put together a magical trippy yet playful mix, we’re in love with its dynamic.  🌳

Here’s a little insight into Tangela’s choice of a plant as a synaesthetic base for her mix -
Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) or kallara as referred to by the Bundjalung People in Northern NSW is a particularly special native tree. They grow in swampy environments next to bodies of water. I have fond memories soaking in tea tree lakes in the northern rivers, stained brown by the leaves stewing, precious oil seeping into the water. For centuries the Aboriginal people have used this plant for medicinal purposes as a natural antiseptic and tea tree lakes were often sacred women’s spaces used in birthing ceremonies. This shrubby tree doesn’t scream for attention amongst the vibrant flora but its significance runs deep, a swampy healer and spiritual protector. This mix is a sensory soak in the soothing, tingly river, dripping with kallara magic.

Tangela’s meteoric rise through the underground scene finds its origins in her weekly radio slot on Sydney’s iconic FBi radio 94.5FM, currently in it’s fifth year of broadcasting all things “squelchy, wobbly, gooey, twisty”. Her signature style has translated from the airwaves to dance floors across many of Australia’s cult clubs, DIY warehouses and bush raves, including her own as founder of both dstreet and Minutiae Festival. Her record label Oomycota pushes into the experimental realm of techno, platforming emerging artists from Australia and beyond. 

Alongside curating and throwing DIY events, she is heavily involved in her local community, organising ‘Dance Class’, a series of BIPOC & FLINTA DJ workshops and radio mentorship.
