Since spending time together in the studio, pioneering house producer Todd Terry and established duo Leftwing:Kody gear up for a punchy collaboration in the form of the Just Getting Warm EP set to release on Solardo’s Sola label.

Combining Todd Terry’s old school influence and sheer production wizardry along with Leftwing:Kody’s masterful craft and signature sound,  lead track Just Getting Warm is a smooth blend of rumbling basslines and piping synth breakdowns. Meanwhile, Never Forget accelerates into a grooving medley of fierce drums and diva vocals set to channel good vibes across the dancefloor. 

Needing little introduction, Todd Terry is one of the world’s most celebrated figures in dance music with almost two decades of dance floor domination under his belt. Known for producing underground smashes and chart hits, Todd Terry simultaneously became a club cool DJ and commercially accessible artist. Releasing on the likes of Strictly Rhythm, Toolroom, CR2 as well as more recent releases on his own imprints InHouse and vinyl only label Freeze Records, Todd Terry continues to be a hugely prominent name on the scene. 

Meanwhile Leftwing:Kody made their stamp back in 2012, with their debut EP bringing them immediate recognition and amplifying them as remarkable producers amongst their peers. Having received notable backing from the likes of Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles and Loco Dice to name a few, the pair went on to launch their Lost Records label. Releasing on their own label as well as Solid Grooves, Kaluki, Toolroom, Desolat and more recently Truesoul earlier this year, it’s clear Leftwing:Kody show no signs of stopping as they continue to rise above the ranks.

This month we have a special guest and long time Deep End friend Jimbo James, purveyor of @musicis4lovers, going off the deep end.
Here's a few words from the man himself about this journey:
This live mix is from my monthly "Sunday is 4 Lovers" event at Firehouse in Pacific Beach playing alongside Oliver Koletzki. We start up at 2pm -- the scene is an open-air rooftop at the beach with people rounding off their weekend with brunch, drinks, and good house music. Being at the beach under the the stars next to the lit fireplace is what inspired me and helped me with the track selection closing out after Oliver. I think the mix is a well-rounded variety of groovy tunes perfect for a peak time set while people party and take up their space on the tight dance floor. This mix reflects me as an artist because I usually open or close my own events to keep the sexy vibes rolling after the headliner smashes it.

This mix was recorded in our studio in Revolucion Avenue in Downtown Tijuana, it features our main Chicago and Detroit house influences like Gerald Mitchell, Paul Johnson, Blue Boy, K Hand, K Alexi, Rick Wade, and our unreleased tune “Drum Fantasy” forthcoming next year. Enjoy!

This month we have a curator from LA, the purveyor of the @6amgroup , JIA. He has been bringing top notch techno talent to LA for the past few years, debuting artists from all over the world to the California warehouse scene successfully expanding its sonic landscape. 
Heres a few words from him: 
This mix is inspired by the many opening sets I would play here at the LA warehouse parties where I have the opportunity to marinate the room from ambient/spacey sounds while building up and layering sounds into a moodier vibe through the set leading into some mild excitement. My train of thought for opening is always wanting to leave the audience with an anticipated energy to welcome the headliner of the night. I take great pride in opening up proper. Much like BBQ culture in Guam, you gotta marinate the meat (in our case the dancefloor) before putting them in the grill for some proper fiesta action

Sprout is the founder of @theafternoonumbrellafriends in San Diego. A collective of young djs stirring the pot in san diego and growing the scene. 
Here are a few words from him: 
Wanna start off with a shout out to the Deep End - I got started in the scene attending their events so it means a lot to me to be featured on this series! I've got a lot of styles in my repertoire but this time I went for that deep minimal tech house sound I've been feeling lately, with a little bit of deep house and some gangster vibes sprinkled in. I wanted to make something easy to listen to but could still get you grooving and hyped up for Umbrella Weekend festival. If you haven't heard about it, it's the campout that my crew, The Afternoon Umbrella Friends, is putting on up in the Mojave desert, coming up from March 13-15th. We've got a ton of our Deep End fam on the lineup including Eric Medina, JNav, Andrew Wilkinson, and more, along with representation all across the SD underground scene so I hope to see all of you out there.
