Modulating The Air 63  # AorMos & Volkan E - (June 25th - 2021)

Monotunes? These are the two guys with that driving, deep sound. The DJ duo is less than two years old in this line-up and yet their musical language is already loud and clear. The story started with no less an event than the after show of the Pollerwiesen Festival in 2015 where Dortmund HipHop veteran Nils was to play his first electronic gig quite unexpectedly. Of course, Soulmate Philo had even more experience and endless buck at his side with lots of beer. A fat set and a dance floor full of enthusiastic people later, the Monotunes 2.0 were born. Since then the guys have been working meticulously on their sound. Producing podcasts, mixtapes and songs – sometimes in pairs, sometimes with support from their large musical network and using every free second they don’t spend with job or family. With his passion for ever new hardware, techno junkie Nils provides the tools that, together with Philos‘ many years of experience and creativity, form the perfect basis for the monotunes sound.

BIO:
Luke Shirwin is a young and aspiring producer and DJ based in Berlin. His love for electronic music started when he discovered ethereal techno, a genre created by Steyoyoke Recordings, which Luke has been following and admiring since the beginning. Currently he is creating weekly sets in his Transmissions Series, where he covers a broad range of subgenres from melodic techno, deep house to progressive house and more. Besides Djing, he is working on own productions as well, which focus on dark and atmospheric sounds a lot, influenced by some of his favourite artists like Nick Devon and Binaryh, among others. SAMMER is a Bulgarian born DJ living between Ibiza and Mexico. Inspired by Afterlife and obsessed with the world of melancholy , her music takes us on journeys between time , space and mind.

Her most remarkable appearance is her gig at the Motel room for Afterlife By Tale of us , both  hosted in Privilege and Hi Ibiza (Motel 8289), Shortly after she gained notoriety by major djs in the industry.  She soon started playing around the island with residency in Sunset Ashram,Europe and Latin America followed with cities like Milan, Istanbul, London, Mexico City & Tulum.

As her Mexican tour was postponed this year, she recorded this beautiful melodic jungle set that includes some new tracks and some old tunes, reminded of the beautiful Tulum magic. A joyful dance availed in fog of melancholy.
