Elif continues to show her endless list of talents; The Turkish label has enlisted the free spirited talent to compile their latest VA ‘Harabe Nightmares II’.

In a tumultuous year, Elif has been a shining light. From her ABRACADABRA residency which provides escapism and connection at a time we need it most, to stellar original releases on Stil Vor Talent, A Tribe Called Kotori, and remixes on Anjunadeep and AKASHA, she’s used this time to truly focus and flourish. Whether she’s writing a track or creating a set, it’s a compelling journey that draws you in. So it’s no wonder she’s been entrusted with compiling the latest Harabe Nightmares compilation.

The track list features a diverse range of both emerging and established talent, plus Elif and Marat Mode team up on the driving cut ‘Koan’, where a catchy riff meets a building synth top line in a colourful rocketing crescendo.

‘I was thrilled to be asked by Cagdas (Anatolian Sessions), a fellow Turkish producer, to compile this VA’ Elif says. ‘I loved having the opportunity to curate music that I like playing from producers I love and want to support. It took a couple of months to compile and was so fun and so satisfying that it made me consider starting my own label in the future! Harabe is an exciting emerging imprint that I'm happy to be a part of. I am in love with each and every track on the compilation and very proud of all the artists who contributed.’

The Turkish label has been bubbling up since it launched in 2019, releasing heartfelt music that defies typical genre norms. ‘Harabe Nightmares ||’ will join a back catalog of quality and consistency from this indie imprint.

Balata is a DJ / Producer based in Brussels, Belgium.
Balata is a pure product of Gerald’s background and culture. From his multicultural roots in Martinique to his life of travel and experience around Europe, he has always tried to walk a thin but distinct line between Afro House and Melodic House. Constantly balancing groovy organic textures against harsh minimalism of the European tech scene. Balata is a total internal reflection of Gerald’s personality. In his own words, « why should we create boundaries ». He showed us how productive he could be and how fast he is growing within our small world.

Tom Ap is a DJ / Producer based in France
Tom made his debuts in the early 00's in the South-West of France, starting with strong influences from the american Hip-Hop scene and mixing on vinyl decks. He got into Electronic music a few years later and started to hold residencies in bars and clubs of the Atlantic Coast and Bordeaux.
Inspired by many different styles from Soul, Disco, Hip-Hop to Electronic Music, he provides energetic DJ sets and fine selections, mixing raw Deep-House and Tech-House msuic for a wide range of audiences.
His recognized technique allowed him to play in many places (4sans, Iboat, Raspoutine Paris, Raspoutine Marrakech, Social Club, Wanderlust, Nuba Paris, Carré Coast, Kong, Bataplan, Black Diamond, Carpe Diem Tunis...) alongside headliners such as Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Alton Miller, Jazzy Jeff, Robert Babicz, Dj Spen, Dj Deep, Jef K, Patrick Topping, Âme, Lula Circus, David Duriez, Phil Weeks, Château Flight, D'julz, Shonky, Arnaud Le Texier, Mass_Prod, just to name a few.
In 2013, he got closer to the french party promoter and magazine Electrocorp. He's the resident DJ of the crew and he currently holds a residency with them at the famous club iBoat.

After being the official resident of Raspoutine Marrakech (Morocco), TOM A.P moved back to France to go back on the road and get multiples residences

About this edit :
Discovering and dusting off the folklore of Italian classical music, I came across Sergio Bruni's version of Scetate and I immediately felt a strong inspiration for the evident Arab influence conferred on Neapolitan culture. Scetate is a song composed in 1887 - lyrics by Ferdinando Russo and music by Mario Pasquale Costa. Like all traditional Napolitan songs it has been interpreted by many masters of the Neapolitan song.  I sampled Sergio Bruni's version and the beautiful ethnic strings of Massimo Ranieri's interpretation.  Have a good listening.

@xxande-music is a musical project by Alessandro Izzo.  Always a great fan of electronic music, he started exploring music production very early, even before discovering clubs.  After his experiences as a DJ and techno music producer he decided to deepen his strong passion at the SAE Institute where he followed studies of Audio Engineering and Music Business and then entered some important recording studios as a sound engineer.  Alessandro is part of the “2040” duo thanks to which he came into contact with labels such as Amselcom, Akumandra, Sweet Music, Plötzlich, URS, Heimlich, Circle and Stones and many others.  Xande started as a downtempo project with the purpose of making the folklore of Italian popular music known to the world, but it's only just beginning!
