What happens when a talented singer / songwriter discovers the ecstatic joy that lingers around the powerful pulse of a straight kickdrum? Damn good things, as we can hear on this EP. Between synthe-tic grooves, live guitar and vocal parts Andy's Echo soars to ever new heights. This trip shifts through various gears: ‘Running’ has a beautifully rough edge, ‘Wild Groove’ streams through our conscious-ness with casual funkiness. Andy's Echo can also become a very melodic, dreamy and therefore extre-mely catchy affair, as the German producer proves in the title Track ‘Thrill Me’. If this high-quality material eventually ends up in the hands of slo-mo hypnotists Herrhausen & Treindl... you guessed it: We're in for damn good things at the lower end of the BPM spectrum.

Andy´s Echo - Running (Herrhausen & Treindl Remix)

The nature of the arts is one of those ancient enigmas which keeps thoughtful minds constantly philosophizing on its power. The mystery of art is deepened by the fact that inspiration can burst at anytime; any sound or fleeting glance can trigger a masterpiece. How can that be explained? We don’t know, and maybe we never will, but what matters to us is tending to that inspiration, and the conditions in which it thrives. This is the story of MA, the latest EP by Batu Ozer, which we are happy to bring to our listeners today. Old recordings of saz or string instruments resembling long-necked lutes, triggered the creative genius of the artist, and five new aural gems were the result.
The title of the album means “water” in ancient Turkish language. Its sonorities and motives evoke the elegance and preciousness of the old Anatolian history. Sounds of spilling water remind us of the fountains found in the courtyards and gardens of gilded palaces. Gentle choirs blend with lutes and finger percussion, effectively transporting us to the public intimacy of the ‘Arfana’: the public musical gatherings of the old times. All of the artist’s productions reflect this ancient beauty, which skillfully revisits and elaborates with electronic effects, resulting in a timeless weave of antiquity and modernity.

The next chapter on our journey is with the two talented musicians Dario Klein & Marten Sundberg. They teamed up together in Cologne to create the „Mikasi Project“.

The use of digital and classic tools and instruments creates a dark downtempo composition combined with techno influences, which you can expect on this release.

Tight remixes are also included by Kapoor, Mula, Robin Schellenberg and Hesselberg who round up the EP with their individual touch. We are super happy with this slightly darker release and would like to thank the involved artists, as well as Kilian Van de Water for his amazing Artwork again.
