Juan Yarin is next up on the Rumors with his Lovefool EP, which comes with a remix from label head Guy Gerber, completing a standout package.

Juan Yarin is a core part of the Rumors family and a regular at the label's Ibiza party. He has released his emotive brand of deep house here before, such as with last year's Venice Beach EP, and impresses once more this time out.

Lovefool opens up with spine-tingling piano chords draped over soft, deep house drums. A tender vocal completes the most majestic groove. Lovefool (Guy Gerber Remix) is a stylish tweak with the piano chords left in place and the drums given a little extra bite. The whole thing sinks you into a reverie and makes for truly beautiful listening. Paradiso then picks up the pace with a more upright house sound this time with low-slung bass and icy hi hats adding detail next to the elegant synth craft. Lina closes down with some heady, hypotonic house that is filled with late-night atmosphere and swirling cosmic keys.

"I'm proud to announce my new EP "LOVEFOOL" says Juan. Before its release date "LOVEFOOL" has already been played by known artists such as KEINEMUSIK at BURNING MAN 2022, and even received a special remix version by GUY GERBER to be released along with the EP. But unlike in the motion picture business, where sequels tend to be watered down rehashes of the original, those Raptures are just getting better and better. It’s all here, the dense and gentle build-up, the tender piano lines, the just overwhelming emotion. Safe bet, we’re dealing with a future classic here.

@qt-high continues his hot streak of releases, this time with a new EP and debut on Deep Root Underground. The Nibiru EP wastes absolutely no time getting down to business: space-age keys trot to a build within seconds, and every drop following gives just a hair more satisfaction, turning the syncopated groove into a thumping trance. From here, “Live Resin” takes the alien vibes of “Nibiru” and morphs them into a muted banger. Closer “BPM” warps the sound further, subverting tech melodies & textures in favor of glitched-out synth turns, and QT-HIGH makes it clear that he’s not out to meet conventions. This EP brings the Underground into its own world where tech & progressive beats dance among exotic melodies and industrialized sampling.
