Perpendicular 2023 - Rambadu

It is a big honour to feature the very talented @syberkid for our ninth Herbarium Episode. With her organic and trippy sound, she makes the perfect match for our series.
The artist chose one of the oldest ferns for her mix, Pteridium Aquilinum. There are fossil records for this plant which are over 55 million years old.
It’s native in the U.K., the place where Sybil is based. She says '[it] looks so prehistoric & Jurassic, I love it.'

It is wonderful how Sybil integrates the mystic yet ancient vibe of this plant into her mix. It describes the complex form and the magic which comes with the age of its existence on earth very well. There are moments in which one can imagine to really communicate with this inspiring plant and feel the atmosphere around it in our forests.

DUBBISM #125 - Pule Kaos

We glide without gravity through the vastness of space, where time is bended and nothing exists but now and eternity. On this journey, led by our adept Hydrous, we pass through all kinds of sonic entities that can be found in the universe.

Hydrous is a producer and DJ based in Oslo, Norway. He works in the music industry as a sound engineer and musician and has several projects in different styles and expressions, ranging from ambient and psychedelic rock to psy-chill and techno.
In his project Hydrous, the focus and sound is on the hypnotic, psychedelic and atmospheric side of techno. He draws much of his inspiration from nature, especially the Norwegian landscape, and meditative states. These threads of inspiration run through his DJ sets and productions, which can mainly be found on Navigare Audio, where also his next EP will see the light of day in October 2023.

In his mix for our series, Hydrous opens up a sonic space that organically combines ambient, spherical structures with more hypnotic vibes. But no matter where he sends us aesthetically - every element, whether subtle or excessive, always has its distinct place. Elements that, in their constant repetition, invite you to follow them without any constraint into the realms of infinity.

Just make yourself comfortable, open your ears and join the flight into the deepest parts of our Galaxy.

For our seventh instalment we’ve invited Wispelturig, a talented DJ based in Amterdam and member of the SKIN collective.

Wispelturig’s sets are dark and evolving, full of mystery and subtleties. From time to time she’ll let you lean into hopeful waves of sound, creating a vibe with both ambient and rhythmical sounds. Whenever she records a mix she likes to take a ‘natural’ approach, things just need to unfold and happen. In that way magical moments can appear.

The music she plays is clearly inspired by nature. She loves ambient and organic sounds that give you the feeling you are lost in a dark and mysterious forest.

“This podcast definitely got me into that dark forest mood again. You will hear the birds singing while mystery takes over. You're lost, but you reach an open field and come to peace with your situation. You will experience the beauty, the troms, the percussion. This place has a rhythm. You will think about your life and sometimes a heavy feeling takes over. Darkness comes and goes. It's dark, for sure. But sometimes it seems brighter. You can lean in and be okay. You know the sun will rise in the end. Every time again. “

Revelation Of Sound is pleased to present Forest on Stasys, an Argentinian artist influenced by tribal minimalist techno, as well as some of the more abstract strains of sound. 
The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions.

But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.
