Like many artists during the pandemic, Robert Johnson resident Franziska Berns is digging outside of the dancefloor norm. She’s put together a beautiful arrangement of ambient and downtempo - which includes her own productions and edits - intertwining some jazz and psych-rock elements. 
It’s the perfect set to play post-weekend, to get back to your mid-week serenity.

Nr. 2 der curated ambient & electronic Series kommt von Johannes Aeppli. Er ist als Musikschaffender kein Unbekannter. Seines Zeichens ist Johannes Aeppli seit Anfang der Nullerjahre als Drummer der Band Freezeebee aus Ffm bekannt geworden, welche nicht nur im Frankfurter Raum bekannt wurden durch eine eigene Mischung aus Rock, Stoner Rock, und dabei, wie sie selbst sagten, traf dort "Jung auf Alt, Funk auf Soul sowie Doom und Metal". Ein Neues Kapitel schlug er auf mit der Band Peoples Temper, die ihren druckvollen, und immer noch an stoner angelehnten Sound weiterentwickelten zum noch kompakteren und raueren Rock Sound, angelehnt an so divergierenden Genres wie Blues und Metal (eindrucksvoll zu hören vom  Livemitschnitt / Gasoline in Ffm 2012) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRDFAX6KaIA&t=6s

Für die neue Mix-Reihe produzierte Johannes einen gleichsam einfühlsamen wie introspektiven Mix mit vielen Ausuferungen in Alternative-Rock und Indie Gefilde, der wie seiner Aussage nach an einen sehr dunklen Gala Abend erinnert, was ja voll OK ist, denn Gala Abende dürfen auch mal ins sehr Dunkle abdriften, solange man selbst noch weiß wo man genau steht. Johannes steht auch total auf elektronischen Sound und hat seit jüngstem als sein Alias Nopamin elektronische Tracks produziert, die irgendwo zwischen Punk, Elektro und Indie Rock zu verorten sind und ordentlich Tanzbar daherkommen!

Ich finde den Mix total gelungen und lasse mich gerne von der Düsternis des Sounds verzaubern.

Es ist mal wieder einer dieser Podcast-Sonntage. Während die meisten unserer Spatzen zurzeit auf der Fusion rumpfeifen wollen wir Hiergebliebenen euch jedoch etwas elektronische Musik zukommen lassen! Heut von unserem Hanauer Wahl-Mainzer und Resident vom Schick&Schön in MZ: @domwaits !! Wenn Dom nicht grad in Mainz mit 'To Be Defined' seine Hände auf den Decks hat findet man ihn auch gern mal in der Pracht in Frankfurt mit seiner Reihe 'Bahnhofsviertelvorelf'. Musikalisch immer zeitlos und am Trend vorbei, irgendwo zwischen Deep und britischem Tech House, über Breakbeat zu Disco Edits, die Shazam zur Verzweiflung bringen. Im Kampf gegen Rechts schickt er uns einen vertonten Sommertag aus dem man schnell die Mittagshitze raushört und der sich dann irgendwann in eine warme dunkle Nacht verwandelt. Vielen Dank Dom für deine Klänge und deine Euphorie! Wir freuen uns sehr auch dich nun in unserem antifaschistischem Regal begrüßen zu dürfen!

The next release on our very own Ransom Note Records comes courtesy of Frankfurt-based artist and long-term friend of the site Daniel 'Flug 8' Herrmann, whose previous work includes Krautrock-indebted releases on Disko B and Smaul, and collaborations with members of noise titans Einstürzende Neubauten. Out March 10th, 'Leuchtkraft' is his third album as Flug 8, and the first in our new series of drone/ambient cassettes.

Daniel has taken the time to record a very special mix for our 'Monday Is OK' series. Leaning more towards the dancefloor than the home, it retains that hypnotic, stargazing quality that characterises his music as Flug 8.
