Baldruin, the nocturnal brainchild of Johannes Schebler, came into life in 2009 and instantly a unique surrealistic sonic topography was mapped out: through the dense undergrowth of synthesizer sounds and various misty noises a more and more detailed world of sound revealed itself with every new release during the past six years - full of bells chiming, voices calling, pipes whistling and seductive percussive elements. Accordingly Baldruin's music has a very cinematic quality recalling the psychic soundtracks of Goblin, the feverish exotica of Jodorowsky's „Holy Mountain“ or the occult “Themes“ of Psychic TV. „Portal“, Baldruin's first vinyl release, follows this musical path in somnabulistic certainty towards a slighty more airy horizon. The journey's not come to an end yet, „Portal“ opens a new chapter in the ongoing saga of Baldruin's Bavarian Gothic.

Recorded in Wiesbaden, Germany in 2014.

Intended for quiet amplification of headphone use.

Derek Carr is a name known by few and far between, with only a handful of vinyl releases in the early 2000s, he built a worthy but unfortunately not widely-spread reputation for putting together stunning deep techno. Originally pressed in finite numbers, the records have recently found themselves in demand on Discogs, and rightly so, Derek’s music is in a class of its own. Having been a big fan since his releases on then local (to label owner Ben) Leeds label Geek records, For Those That Knoe has dug deep into the archives to put together a sizeable selection of Derek’s back catalogue, with some unreleased gems dotted amongst the classic must-haves, spread across three EPs

Part two of three in Derek’s series kicks off with a Destiny, a driving deep techno funk filled jam, originally released on Derek’s label Trident. Bob is a spacey and sparse melodic electro gem taken from the unreleased archives. L’Equipe on the flip was one of the standout cuts on Derek’s solo EP on Headspace Recordings, pure unadulterated deep house. Museum Piece is a groovy ambient electro jam ripped from DAT and slotted into the B2.

The faceless producer descends into the nether regions of evil-minded dubby techno, dishing out an infamous 4/4 roller for stranded dungeons and big-room sound systems. Don't trust these sensuous female vocals beaconing the path like frail flares, you're being sent into the lion's den.

Born and raised in Union City, New Jersey, Nicuri’s journey toward producing music and DJing took hold later than most. Moving in circles surrounding the Exchange Place crew (DJ Qu, Joey Anderson & David Salazar) helped craft his style of DJing & music influences. Musical influences were many, especially growing up in the early 80’s, listening from hip hop to new wave and other form of genres in and around those times. His first house & techno experience was in the very early 90’s when a schoolmate had mentioned of certain underground radio stations in NY playing club music. He was then hooked. 

Nicuri spins a range from soulful/deep house to deep minimal/techno. His DJ style is careful selections arranged skillfully into to one seamless journey. His start as a DJ had landed him spinning at Concrete in Paris and at the Panorama Bar in Berlin on his first tour. From there he’s spun at Output and many other clubs in NY.

Nicuri’s first track release was on DJ Qu’s record label Strength Music on the Exchange Place series called “Ridinthatneedle”. It was a start on his journey to connect with people through his music. His fledgling discography include other releases on labels such as Growin Music, Inimeg Records, Bliq, Mora Music, YYG. In 2014, he had established his own record label called “Sound Theories”.
