I took a few ominous sounding extracts from a previous track, stretched and mixed them, multi-tracked and reversed one and remixed an excerpt of organ music and speech recorded in the astonishing echo chamber of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

There is just one step to this project: Halloween is nearly here, so make some haunted sounds for people to play for trick-or-treaters.

I don't always enjoy the scary things, but I really enjoyed making some scary music. I jammed for about an hour on some hardware gear with this prompt in mind. Later that night, I walked around the house recording my creeky wood floors and rusty doors. Then cut for length and added some effects and edits in Live. 
While I was making these sounds, my wife Monica created this digital collage image. We enjoyed this simultaneous creative process and plan on doing it again. The Devil is an Abstract Concept  (Disquiet0666)

I started with dark pulses from the Easel and then added distorted tones from the Terra, with a little help from "ghost delay" effects. In my search for some suitably dark samples, ideally excerpts from an exorcism, I stumbled across a "new age" voice over offering services to combat "spirit attachment syndrome." Somehow the calm almost hypnotizing voice of the speaker seemed more sinister than the usual screaming profanities associated with spirit or demon possession.

This track is an experimental little thing made for the 666th Disquiet Junto. It uses ‘the devil’s interval’ of chords made up from notes 6 semitones apart, a mix of 4/4 and 6/4 and, of course, it’s 66.6bpm. I played with effects to add to the gritty, disturbing sound.
