From the 4 track EP, Jah-Tek presents 'More Life', a 2 step, dub-infused sub mover, reminiscent of the stripped back pre-dubstep garage era.

Qant - More Life (KAV011) [Jah-Tek Premiere]

Hessle Audio welcomes Toumba to the label with the four track EP ‘Petals’. Based in Amman, Jordan, Toumba explores Levantine microtonality, rhythms, play styles and timbres across the record. Lead track ‘Istibtan’ is a twist on a typical Jordanian wedding song with deep subs providing the foundations, while 'Petals' rides on the heavy swing which is unique to music from the south of Jordan. On the flip side, 'Hazzeh' deconstructs Dabkeh, while the EP is rounded off with 'Identity Crisis' which is four minutes of lilting melodies all in Maqam Rast but played in an untraditional way.

Toumba is a producer, DJ and sound designer and is a curator at MNFA, a club and arts space in Jordan’s capital Amman. A nationally respected artist, Toumba also holds a residency at the MMAG Foundation. The foundation works with a selection of the most gifted artists in the Levant, providing a space for artistic research, production and critical discourse.

Lyndon Jarr - Somebody New

Weighing in heavy with murderous intent across three guaranteed dance levellers, Trends & Boylan land on Sneaker Social Club with a bang. The pair have been slugging out grime-leaning gear for the past five years, causing a ruckus with their truly evil ‘Norman Bates’ beat, releasing also on Trends own Mean Streets label and linking up with Slimzee’s foundational stable Slimzos for some dubplate action.

They bring that street-level swagger to the tracks on the Ninety Nine EP, but here their punchy 8-bar flex is embellished to blend in with the Sneaker surroundings a treat. ‘Carnage’ tips towards chopped up Think Breaks while ‘Nocturnal’ doubles down on the dirtiest of b-lines. Confirming their allyship from dubplates gone by, Slimzee links up with Trends & Boylan for the double A side slammer, ‘Ninety Nine’, weaving dread-side D&B stabs around a tightly-wound beat with devastating results. There’s not an ounce of excess on these cuts precision tooled to smashup the dance good and proper. Need we say more?

JUDDER launches its own label with the first release being a VA "Judder Compilation #1". Expect nine tracks, exploring bass-oriented sonics around the 130–160 bpm range, from the likes of both worldwide acknowledged and up-and-coming artists. A huge palette of sounds and different moods meticulously flows through each track from the very beginning to an end.

The duo Poima opens the release with hypnotic and viscous swampy vibes, at the same time An Avrin brings groovy dancefloor-ish breakbeat settings. JUDDER resident Oddkut comes in with a percussive-driven heavy-hitter, while Nattah showcases her skills with unpretentious yet deeply pervasive stepper "False Trail". DUBRAW's very own Skotcha delivers pure shellings with a skippy grime-influenced "Shells" and, as usual, Champion Sound are ready to bury the soundboy with nothing but a straight belter. Flint's minimalistic approach to production continues to unfold through an ever-swirling and ever-twisting "Amok" and so does Dawn Razor's with a very funky and dubby dancefloor tool. The one to complete the compilation is Kapha, sharing an enigmatic clicky juke-track "Act & Pause"

The first instalment in the series of JUDDER compilations has brought together a unique selection of talented artists and musicians in order for you to dive deeply into the bass-driven experimental sound.
