What do clouds sound like? For 3024's first release of 2023, we are super proud to present an exploration of that question by the amazing Italian-Ivorian producer Ehua on her new EP.
"Clouds EP" consists of four sonically and energetically varied tracks inspired by the paradoxical nature of these mood-shifting objects, suspended in space. They can be heavy or light, menacing or comforting, distraught or at ease. They are still but in motion, they can cause fear and confusion or give you strength, awareness and empowerment. Ehua's music combines live handmade percussion and flutes (the ancient Duduk on Nefele and recorder on Vola) with fierce drum programming and synth work. This is music for the mind and the 'floor! Enjoy.

Kindergarten Records readies a new V/A compilation with Fluo III - a three-tracker that injects ongoing futuristic dancefloor forays accompanied by kaleidoscopic club sounds. 

Two brand-new voices make their debut on the label, as New York-based artists Palitra and Martini make their presence felt alongside a solo track from label founder Ma Sha.

Palitra leads off Fluo III with “Cold Shoulder”, a methodically bass-churner that invokes a time-warp tunnel between early 2000s sound design up until now. Palitra’s globe-spanning upbringing shaped his influences and experiences - originally from Kyiv and then moving to the
mountainous ranges of Virginia, the constant shifts between time, space and pace developed into distinct sonic sensibilities upon his move to New York. 

From Palitra himself: “Around that time, besides the obvious reference to Source Direct, I was also discovering mid 2000s drumfunk and listening to records from labels like Scientific Wax and Inperspective. The lean, vascular sound and rhythmic structures of the hits of that era inspired the idea behind Cold Shoulder."

New York-based label Kindergarten Records is thrilled to unveil Ayesha’s (@aye5ha) debut album, ‘Rhythm is Memory’ – 10 boundary-pushing tracks, a shape-shifting percussive journey with electric moments. While intended for maximum dancefloor impact, Ayesha’s first LP is also conceptually thought-provoking and playful, exploring how bodies store and channel creative knowledge.

Having been part of the family for quite some time now, Lauren Bush aka re:ni joins the Timedance roster with an incredibly potent quartet of Techno infused bass-bin weaponry.

« BeautySick » sees re:ni plunging into a world of intoxicating serpentine grooves. Spectral vocal slabs chime like echoes of a distant hallucinatory trance, while industrial drumworks find a mesmerizing counterpoint in eerie dubwise atmospheres.

These four compositions not only showcase re:ni's evolution but also explore themes of confidence and feminine power, as well as the transient moments where darkness converges with light. They stand as a testament to the sonic prowess of one or favorite dancefloor sorceress.

Picture Hajime Sorayama’s ‘Sexy Robot’ in front of an unreasonably large stack of speakers at a dimly lit sound-system dance; this is the soundtrack.

Following their outstanding appearance on Kindergarten Records VA Fluo III, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Martini debuts on Early Reflex with their first EP titled ‘Last Laugh’.

Touching sonic landscapes adjacent to Leftfield Techno, Dubstep and Electro, Martini explores in their 4-tracker the power to impact on both body and mind through their immersive sound achieved by a precise manipulation of timbre and rhythm from the American producer.

Title track ‘Last Laugh’ opens the journey into Martini’s world with syncopated beats and its punch kick surrounded by warped effects and a texture of arpeggiated synthesisers.
Mood and BPMs shift into electro-mode in’If I Don’t Laugh I’ll Cry’ a heavy distorted synth signals to the listeners that an explosive beat is about to drop.
The dance keeps going on and on with ‘Chaste’ which follows next, a wormhole of incessant kick-drums, pitch-shifting effects and punchy-basses.
The atmospherical state of‘Serendipity’ close the sonic journey into Martini’s world, where mind-twisting pads and undistinguishable vocals pre-announce the landing on an extraterrestrial dub-heavy “sonosphere”.

Martini said:
“This EP represents my deep interest in expressing convoluted emotions and narratives through the precise manipulation of timbre and rhythm. I’m fascinated by the power sound has over your mind and body despite the level of abstraction it can exhibit, which I try to exploit by carefully crafting each sound.”

‘Last Laugh’ is available across all platforms on Friday 16th of February 2024.
