Started in 2020, the Mentoring Program run by label owner Martyn has become a worldwide online and IRL community of artists sharing resources, ideas and inspiration. This compilation showcases the wide range of fresh and amazing music that is continuously surfacing from the program, unbound by strict genre definitions.

Besides a collection of new music, Undercurrents is also a consideration of what a record label can be in 2024. Whether it’s a platform for repurposing old material, providing daylight for new sounds, artists or even entire communities, or injecting new ideas about authenticity and sustainability into the current of the underground, rather than partaking in the unwinnable race over algorithm dominance. Dj Vietnam is a DJ and producer from Milan, Italy, delivering a perfect blend of electro, UK bass, breakbeat and ghetto tech.

Dj Vietnam is the owner of the FU.ME rec label since 2014, radically established in proper electro, ghetto bass and Detroit techno, releasing music on all supports including vinyl record, digital and cassette. 
He’s also founder since 2021 of the Labratech label, more oriented towards high bpm, cyber tek and rave music.
During his sets he creates a soundscape around the syncope, delivering new breaks and kicking bass to blow the dancefloors.
He is one of the heads behind the collective Moken, an industrial/EBM band, where he fits the frontman’s role as screamer and modular alchemist, releasing music in vinyl and cassette on FU.ME rec and Soil rec, and many other appearances on V/A.
For some years he boasts for having created in Milan, Italy the party “Orbiter”, which featured many talented artists as: Bochum Welt, Credit 00, Ultradyne, Morah, Jensen Interceptor, The Exaltics, Umwelt, Galaxian, Luke Eargoggle and many others.

After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.
