Arkityp, the imprint solely dedicated to Archie Hamilton and Rossko's collaborations, returns in 2018 with its sophomore release - ‘3 For A Tenner’ EP, landing in all good record stores March 19.

Born out of marathon sessions in Hamilton’s London based studio, the duo would road-test the outcomes of these endeavours, letting the dancefloors adjudicate the EP’s final tracklist, one that elaborates further on the theme of AKTP001 - growing up clubbing in the UK’s capital. 

Delving deep into the cross-pollinations between minimal, dub techno and tech house, this three tracker celebrates the attitude and energy within England’s club culture, a culture that has profoundly impacted the perspective of both label bosses and their production style.

An expressive electronic album with the kind of positive, stirring resolve that leaves you feeling utterly comforted, Bjarki’s new album ‘Happy Earthday’ is influenced by his home country Iceland as well as environmental issues.

Having released bodies of work on трип and his own label bbbbbb, Bjarki views ‘Happy Earthday’ as his proper debut album; he feels it’s a more coherent and conceptual body of work that finds him offering up music he never thought he would release. The album contains very personal material written over the last decade during fragile moments of introspection. Says Bjarki on the album: “You can consider this album as a window into my head and even my soul. It reflects my thoughts at the time I made this music. For me it is a bit odd, sharing it like this with the world. As a very private person I am not used to open my door so completely, it can be a little scary for me. What if … I tend to think, expecting all kinds of everything.

Releasing this album is also a kind of a farewell to music I made in a certain period in my life. It’s like I’m saying farewell to a grown-up child which is now ready to leave.

When facing the world, the music undergoes many changes from my point of view. It becomes global, ceased to be obeyed by my thoughts. Now it’s yours, the folks that listens, thinks, speculates about it, consumes and develops a private opinion. Not one, or two, but many, even thousands. And your opinion is equally as ‘right’ as mine, or maybe more.

That’s how art is. When published, the understanding or opinion is even more of the consumers than the artist. He has lost his control over it and for me that is the scary part. Again, what if …

My music is under a heave influence from my inheritance as an Icelander, my upbringing, my family, surroundings and of course the music and artists I have listened to all my life. That’s how things are.

Maybe you can feel the melancholy of my life, the nature overall. Volcanos and the lava flowing down the slopes, the frightening noise of the ocean beating the land, the strong wind in the mountain passes and a glimpse of the first ray of the rising sun over the glacier. Now that is the dawn of a new day.”

A native of Galway, KETTAMA has spent the past couple of years rising through the tricky ranks of the Irish electronic music scene with his multiple residencies on the West and East coasts. However, his biggest claim to fame so far has been the online presence he has built across a range of different music communities online. What has happened since has been nothing short of breathtaking; his blend of hefty kicks with catchy riffs and stabs has given the house world a new ‘one to watch’ and he has certainly given everyone a good show to look at thus far.

Last year being his best year to date with his release of Bucklyn Bridge on Brookyln's HOMAGE, KETTAMA has no intention of slowing down in 2019. Joining the likes of powerhouses such as Demuja, Adryiano, Loods, and Harrison BDP, KETTAMA has recently decided to collaborate with UK label Shall Not Fade to come out with a new record titled Eastside Avenue.

Today, we are sharing one of the originals from the 4 track EP and it's called "Falling Down." Featuring generous applications of floor shattering bass and old-school Acid house synth work, the Irish lad is able to put together a high-energy chune that has "peak time" written all over it. We do not always post bangers of this variety on Bolting Bits, but when we do, they are usually top notch...and this certainly lives up to the standard.

Eastside Avenue is set for release on April 12th. You can bet that it's sure to fly off the shelves.

CLIPP100. It’s a special number so we have really special release for you. Taking the form of our second mini-album our 100th comes from Montpellier via French DJ and producer KARLITA. The 5 exceptional pieces that comprise “Lazydayz” glide against one another informed by the trip-hop, ambient, and lounge music that was folded into Karlita’s youth (by i’m guessing clearly very cool parents). In those years the atmospheric vibes of synth & pads from another world were for her a revelation, as if to say: "this song speaks to me, its history touches me, I almost feel it comes from the sky". Since then, it became a means of expression, and above all a love of music and desire to share emotions, to touch others with words transformed into sound, that Karlita began to compose (in her room probably), inspired by her surroundings and their stories. In her own words: “Où la mélancolie et l'espoir règnent d'une manière groovy” *. This last sentence really connected the dots for us as it explains the zone we’ve created & occupied with our clipp.art releases from the start, up to and including this hundredth release, thus enhancing the charm of this one all the more!

CLIPP100. Opening track “La Chamade” sets the speed, playfully detuned bells flirt around swirling pads, “..in a manner of speaking" a voice whispers into the collapsing pulses and house beats. The die is cast and the only option is to close your eyes and sink backwards into the staccato riddim of “Don’t Worry” - endlessly falling until the dulcet click of the 4/4 groove beckons you into greeting your own subconscious sense of karma. "I don't know what to say” confesses a faceless male voice, to which the feminine reply “I do" echoes back across a chasm as deep as any metaphysical mariana trench. “Good Girl” breaks out into a gentle jog deep the darkness, which is good since you know your hips were made for this action and you’re already flexing. Barely audible Karlita elucidates "She ending up in the roses, a threatening storm over her head, she makes the world turns, as she turns", and it’s no accident, no trickery or wangle that you are now this deep - you’ve since swallowed the red pill and find no horizon, no measure, nor means of escape so go with it, my guy. The only certain choice is down, further down and it’s suddenly a full body bend into the healing semi-spiritual chant of "Shadows, takes me down. Shadows, takes me down. Shadows, takes me down. (etcetera) ". From here we finally feel the sunlight on our faces as the Drexciyan vibes on the aptly titled fourth movement “Shadows” melt away and you awaken to the spraycan shuffle grooves of album closer “Dangerous”. The cycle concludes as the hypnotists fingers snap and the repeating trance of “Dangerous, Dangerous, You're a dangerous girl, she was right" remind you that all hidden meanings can be found deep inside, revealed only once when you stop looking. Emotions shared, words transformed into sound, reaching out across the void. The soundtrack to all our lazy days.  

CLIPP100. The deeper we look inward the further we look ahead, mein kumpel. Our resolve maintained, hand-in-hand this excursion into the raw groove continues. Thank you for the sounds of a hundred good times and please join us for a hundred more!
