Making up for lost time we are back with another Redstone Press debut in the form of Henry Greenleaf.

After Liam Robertson’s Village of Killin release we were on a collision course with Henry, both parties reached out to one another simultaneously in hopes of working together and here we are! Henry spent a lot of time in the Lake District prior to and during the beginning of the pandemic and this release is the fruit beared from that period! Full of tense space and creative freedom, Kirkstone EP is Henry’s finest work to date (in our biased and arrogant opinion) and highlights his ever-upwards trajectory.

The EP’s namesake boots down the door with his instantly recognisable drum work and intricate synth lines, simply put Kirkstone is a club killer! The A2 “Headache District” is a more spacious affair, awash with ambient sweeps that, when paired with his intricate booming kicks, creates a subtle groove that belies the driving force behind the track.

On the flip “Put By” swaps sweeping synths for metallic abrasion and a building tension that dissolves into unsteady piercing stabs and crumbling basslines. Henry expertly stiches together elements that on paper shouldn’t work, into a masterfully deep and ominous 5 minutes. Closing out the EP is “Group Translate”, a symphony of cascading sounds that ramp up the pace and force you into taking notice! This hammer of a track sounds like something you’d hear as you pass through a blackhole in space, on eccies.

Brighton-based producer @Tamlinspeaks brings his Bitter Fruit EP to Scuffed Recordings, showing his broad approach to production across four varied tracks.

Although the EP is Tamlin’s debut on Scuffed under this alias, he has previously appeared as part of the duo Heritage, whose releases have included some of the most defining tracks on the label. In comparison to the high-energy breaks and bass-led production of Heritage, the Tamlin alias shows a more introspective sound - spanning melodic electronics, broken techno, hybrid dancehall, and soaring breakbeats.

Opener ‘Bitter Fruit’ - focussed around a hypnotic marimba melody - was debuted by label owners Wager and Ian DPM on Rinse FM back in 2020 and has been the subject of countless track ID requests since.

Next up is ‘Diazemax’, which comes across like a sequel to some of Heritage’s earlier work such as ‘What U Wearing’ - all at once heavy, percussive, and floatingly melodic, while third track ‘Flutter in Blue’ slows the tempo to 100bpm for a weighty, dancehall-influenced roller.

To close out the EP, Tamlin recruits fellow Brighton producer Parry on ‘Rush’, the most intricately-produced track of the release - with reflective pads swirling around winding percussion.

celebrates its anniversary with exclusive tracks by a fine selection 
of artists from the label roster as well as new names. Instead of 
looking back at the classics, Pingipung chose to compile a 
kaleidoscopic preview of possible future directions for the label. 
The line-up features playfully melancholic songs by Museum Of No 
Art, Peter Power or The Notwist, an excursion to the desert by RVDS 
or a psychedelic take on Dub in Tolouse Low Trax’ remix for the Ainu 
singer Umeko Ando. Artists such as Anadol, Y Bülbül, MD Pallavi & 
Andi Otto, M.RUX, Sven Kacirek, Schlammpeitziger, Peter Presto and 
F.S.Blumm are already well known to the Pingipung audience. They 
contribute exclusive new tracks, adding to their existing output on 
the label. 
It’s impossible to file this compilation under a genre, which is 
exactly the case with Pingipung in general - bull’s eye. The 
collection of tracks is pressed in the perfect format to match the

Egyptian artist Hassan Abou Alam delivers the 4-track EP Ice, glistening with unusual textures that glide through several soundscapes spanning techno, breaks, bass and unclassifiable noise.

Things get spooky on ‘Hollow In C#’ as Hassan pairs a reverb-heavy vocal with chugging drums and eerie pads, echoing his mental and physical state during quarantine last year. Freaky but fierce.

Hassan Abou Alam has spent the last decade exploring disparate sound palettes and genres, from breaks to techno to bass. Today, his curiosity is unwavering. Hassan produces music using a hybrid setup of analog and digital instruments, conveying organised but compelling chaos that’s won him legions of fans worldwide.

We are gathered here today to commemorate in song the life of a great legend, the one and only Pingipung Records. 

For many years now, Tepeme has been amazed and inspired by the Hamburg label, release after release we get extreme curation quality, eclectic nature and outstanding artworks. It's beautiful that no matter the genres of their more than 70 (!) releases, we say "that's Pingipung"; few labels accomplish that in our eyes.

So, it is with such pleasure and honor to host one of the tracks pertaining their 20th Anniversary release: RVDS from Hamburg delivers a joyful desert ride with a psychedelic cabaret-like twist. Perfect to let imagination take over.

RVDS - Wüstensphären (XX Pingipung Premiere)

He didn't give much away, his mouth said one thing and his eyes another. She couldn't work out if this was just in his character or if he just had no interest in communicating with her; either way it intrigued her to no end, she wanted to get to the bottom of it. Rather than deter her, his dark eyes and his icy stare drew her further in. There was something behind it, a story that needed to be told, and she wanted to be the one to hear it...

Hard at work since 2008, Egyptian producer Hassan Abou Alam has shared his musical fruits with the world via labels like Rhythm Section, Naive and Banoffee Pies, which explore and blur the borders between breakbeat, techno and bass. For his next outing, he lands on Rinse resident Roni's Nehza Records with a new four-track EP called Ice, that once again showcases his versatility as a producer. Crafted using a mixture of analog and digital gear, the resulting tracks are packed full of textural sounds, meticulous drum work, fx saturated vocals and squelchy bass.
