Germany based label Blaq Numbers is back with a monster 24 track compilation on cassette tape, "The Blaq Bunch Vol.1". Continuing the Blaq Tapes series, they've brought together their labels artists and producers completely, ignoring that they all do various genres. You can hear all kinds of influences from disco, funk and hip hop over to acid, experimental stuff and techno throughout this compilation.

Make sure you pre-order the limited cassette and the digi on the label's bandcamp as it drops January 8th, 2018.

Firm favorite of the channel, 'Who's Susan' made some serious strides last year, whamming out their first four records within a year of their inception. Each of their offerings demonstrating the dutch imprint's penchant for authenticity, whilst fundamentally retaining their dance-floor roots. Perhaps helping us get a little closer to that fabled question; who is she!?

Dwell in the past, we shalt not; this is now. It's 2018 and their 5th release (technically 004) states some serious intent going forth. This one's a split record from Axe on Wax head honcho, Fede Lng on the A and the bodacious Deejay Astral on the flip - and by Jove it's heavy. We're pleased to be premiering Fede's 'Shut 'em Down' - a stonking, rip-rawing bully of a jam. Gone are the times to sit, contemplate and meloncholically mull ones projections into the forthcoming year. This one's for the floor and it's taking you there whether you like it or not. See you there.

What do you get when you cross a Frenchman, a Dane, two Irishmen and a Swede? The debut various artists compilation from Kyoku Records, of course. Gathering the producers who make up their whole discography thus far, the Melbourne-based imprint are welcoming back Dorsi Plantar, Sune, Long Island Sound and Ethyène (alongside Folamour and Marc Bianco). Translating from Japanese to a befitting "dancing birds", the Odoru Tori EP is revitalizing the elegant origami series for one last spin. The orizuru, hachidori, oumu and hakucho, that is, the paper crane, the hummingbird, the parrot and the swan are bringing the handmade array to a suitable conclusion. 

 "Californicate" from Sune takes a more laidback approach and channels the breezy and carefree atmosphere of the coastal Golden State

From fresh-faced, South-London label and party series Forgot, comes their second multi-artist EP, featuring four new cuts of deep house goodness.

After the bumping release that was Forgot 001, which gained critical praise from establishments like Juno and gained plays from Wah Wah 45’s Dom Servini, the label brings another solid release, featuring scuffed up tracks, equally at home or in the club.

A particular stand out is the sunny, house bumper “Apple Juice” by London producer Hoffy, who brings the tropical disco vibes for this invigorating slice of dance music. Dripping with hazy vocal cuts, bumping beats and the smoothest horns this side of John Coltrane, "Apple Juice" brings the sound of a Summer spent relaxing by the beach, with a skateboard in one hand, and an ice-cold cocktail in the other (or perhaps a refreshing glass of AJ?).

The rest of the EP is no slouch either.

Hoffy’s looping slice of sunshine brings together the perfect vibe for the sun still in the sky, but the night’s just approaching. The A2 “4e&j” by Lavan takes us to the sunset with soulful keys and a deep RnB vocal loop. B1 brings it even deeper, with the conga inflected “Any Colour You Like” by Joe S, bringing the EP straight into the night time with it’s wistful Rhodes and sultry brass. Finally, B2’s “Filter Disco” by Newcomer Cass Brooker takes us straight into the club, with his looping, peak time disco banger.

'Forgot' continues its small but growing catalogue with another strong entry, bringing the perfect Summertime Deep House EP, coming exactly at the time we need it.
