Introducing Sha Ru - the new joint project from producers Ma Sha and Rù fueled by a persuasive fusion of balearic downtempo cuts and rich acid filth.

Drawing influences from the sounds of breakbeat, club, hip-hop, and UK bass, Sha Ru’s debut release “Near The Equinoxes” is a rich and exciting collection of cuts out November 8th via Brooklyn’s Sorry Records. The EP features “PCCCC (Lechuga Zafiro Remix)” — a club-ready take from Uruguayan producer Lechuga Zafiro who is known for his incredible releases through Mexico City’s N.A.A.F.I collective and his own Salviatek label/party.

Sorry Records is a Brooklyn based record label putting out beloved dance and pop music world wide. Ma Sha Ru @masharu unveil their debut EP with 'Near The Equinoxes', a collection of material that offers a communal reflection on the phases of Ma Sha and Rù’s real life long distance relationship. The intimate release bobs and weaves through experimental rhythms, shimmering textures and soaring soundscapes. 

The artists express the vision behind the release as representing the strong bond between them: "Separated by an ocean, Ma Sha Ru exists in a half physical and half digital realm; a love experienced through truncated visits and nights spent falling asleep on the phone together, always searching for the perfect instance of time when a cosmic balance is present and they can once again be together."

The 'Near The Equinoxes' EP is set for release November 8 via Sorry Records @sorry-records.

@kindergartenrecords continues to grow their library of cosmic club workouts this time putting residents @sharu head to head with @despinadespina for "Polychronia" out on June 5th. Sha Ru's tracks are the truest representation of the band’s ambitions to date, and a seismic leap in ambition that sees them incorporate vocals for the first time. "Face" is introspective, Ma Sha’s alluring vocals a siren’s call to the bubbling, muddy depths within.

Written during our four months lockdown in Minsk, Belarus in 2020.

Witnessing a repressive government which keeps its power at any cost, Ma Sha Ru wrote "White Red White, Keep Up the Fight!" EP. Filled with dark atmospheres, it tells the story of people fighting for their freedom and rights.

All the profits from the release will be going to the Belarus Solidarity Foundation (BYSOL).
