Born in Santa Fe New Mexico, Apotheca birthed his stage name in 2021. Formally known as UG$ RANDOMLIFE, Apotheca has been a recording artist of many genres including Hip Hop, Trap, Deep House, Bass House, UK Garage, and Glitch Core. He branded himself in the EDM scene after having a deep passion for the underground raving scene since 2009. Playing with words and word play has always been an escape for his feelings and thoughts. His particular bass heavy sound is what drives crowds to highs and lows. Creating an unforgettable experience for the listener. While always striving to better his craft it has led him to play on stages along side Xblyssid, Aaron Jackson, Ray Burger, Kendoll, Max Low, Jaycee Oh, Valentino Khan, and Tchami. He is now releasing on Thiccfreqness records!

OpenEnd is the alias and creative project of multidisciplinary artist Reece Anderson (he/him), a producer, DJ, designer, and curator with over 15 years of contributions to scenes in and around Calgary, AB (Treaty 7 Territory) and the Sunshine Coast, BC (shíshálh, skwxwú7mesh, Tla’amin, and Klahoose Nations). Drawing from both sides of the Atlantic, his sound explores the space between organic and synthetic rhythms. Fusing themes of d&b, half-step, autonomic, techno and breaks into immersive, percussive atmospheres. In addition to performing at notable events like Bass Coast, Shambhala, Sled Island, AEMCON, his productions have received backing from musicians like dBridge, Om Unit, and Sun People.

About DDNBC

Starting out as a Drum and Bass night series in Leipzig (Germany) with focus on mainly deep, dark, yet experimental aspects of the genre and DNB-related music such as Footwork, 160 BPM, Dark Jungle and so on, the Dark Drum&Bass Convention has become an DNB institution in the local scene with regular events, but also an independent platform for different DJs and Labels that share the same interest in this music and B2B DJ-culture.

DDNBC is all about the scene as a family and connecting. With the launch of a podcast series that does strictly feature DJs that have been playing at one of the past events already, this concept might become even more evident. As the family is growing, we are proud to already have featured artists such as ZeroZero, DLR, Hydro, War, Silent Witness, Ruffhouse, Survey, Unreal Project and LXC.
