Tragedy in Yemen doesn't seem to be a result of Shia-Sunni conflict, failure of a political transition or Arab spring. What's the true reason behind Saudi-U.S. bombing?  Perhaps Yemen’s open criticism of the U.S.-Saudi invasion in Iraq alienated the country; perhaps the USS Cole provocation attack might have provided the reason for escalation and the future invasion.

“In the fall of 1990, the newly created Republic of Yemen took the position that a diplomatic solution for Iraq’s aggression should be reached between the Arab countries. Yemen’s refusal to join the U.S.-Saudi military coalition against Iraq prompted Saudi Arabia to expel several hundred thousand Yemeni workers and to cut all foreign aid to Yemen; most of the other Arab oil states followed suit. Within months, the republic’s gross domestic product and government revenues—to which external aid contributed significantly—plunged; the unemployment and inflation rates, as well as the budget deficit, soared. By 1992, general contraction of the economy had produced widespread and deepening privation, and modest increases in oil revenues did not add much to the capacity of the new government to ease the growing suffering and to stem the collapse of the economy.”

The ex-CIA agent also stated that Ambassador Bodine threw John O’Neill and his team out of Yemen lest their investigation began uncovering evidence that the Cole was not blown up by an explosive-laden boat but by an Israeli cruise missile. 
The former CIA agent said the reason for the Israeli attack was to further galvanize U.S. public opinion against both Al Qaeda and the Democrats in the weeks prior to the 2000 presidential elections. The Bush-Cheney team could blame the Democrats for not taking the Al Qaeda threat seriously.”

We are all competing with tens of millions of musicians; to say it’s overcrowded out there is a huge understatement, and it’s that overcrowding that makes it so difficult to reach an audience—it’s exactly like searching for a needle in a haystack, and who has the time to do that!

If we are to have any chance of breaking the stranglehold of a mercenary music industry, if we are to have any chance of convincing a potential audience that our music is , more than not, actually superior to signed music, more inventive, more innovative, more creative, more imaginative, and a whole lot less formulaic!

Music has come a long way, it’s never been so diverse, so it’s ridiculous that people are forced to listen to formula conveyor belt music, high on production, low on substance! Listeners have no idea they are being spoon-fed scrag ends; they belief the myth that signed means superior—well I’ve heard enough unsigned music to know that just ain’t true….but we’re never going to prove that as long as we continue to treat each other’s music as though it were worthless! @MusiciansWithVision
