Our 'Good Morning from ...' Guest Mix series will explore different artists from all around the world as they take us on a journey with their distinct and unique sounds that they'll showcase to represent their taste, surroundings and upbringing.

Today, we’re back in the UK for an early morning story from a duo whose storytelling capabilities have seen them travel far and wide, and today they’ve spoilt us with a gorgeous two and a half hour tale; sit down with us alongside @deathonthebalcony

Travel with us to Blackpool on the Flyde Coast, in Northern England, where neon-lit amusements, bustling funfairs and golden, sandy beaches are everywhere to see. 

As we walk, you can hear the constant beeps and chimes of the slot machines, where wins and losses are part of everyday life. If you try your luck on The Golden Mile, which side of the coin will you sit on?

Ich öffne meine Augen und Sonnenstrahlen kitzeln mein Gesicht. Draußen scheint ein wundervoller Tag begonnen zu haben. Doch mir bereitet das helle Licht nur einen stechenden Schmerz in meinem Kopf. Genervt wende ich mich zur Seite und flüchte aus der Sonnenseite des Bettes. Eine unbekannte Schwere macht sich in mir breit und raubt mir jeden Antrieb. Die Ereignisse der letzten Tage fordern ihren Tribut. All das Erlebte habe ich bisher nicht ansatzweise reflektieren können. Mein Kopf hat bisher alles verdrängt und mir den Rücken frei gehgalten damit ich einfach funktionieren kann. Doch jetzt scheine ich mich dieser Aufgabe stellen zu müssen. Erinnerungen kommen unwillkürlich in mein Bewusstsein und wollen eingeordnet werden. Was war Fiktion und was Realität. Wo habe ich mich richtig verhalten und was hätte ich besser machen können. Doch ich schaffe es nicht in diesen Kategorien zu denken. Etwas in mir weigert sich die nahe Vergangenheit zu beurteilen. Statt Klarheit zu schaffen, verunsichert mich der ganze Denkprozess und verursacht nur noch heftigeren Kopfschmerz. Und so fliegen einfach Szenen der vergangenen Nacht unkommentiert durch mein Gedächtnis und verschwinden wieder in der großen Dunkelheit. Eine Dunkelheit die in mir existiert und etwas zu verbergen scheint. 
Ich sammle all meine Kraft und raffe mich auf. Schließlich ist draußen immer noch ein schöner Tag, der auf mich wartet. Also Sonnenbrille auf und raus vor die Tür. Hier nervt die Sonne auch weit weniger und gibt mir im Gegenteil sogar Kraft. Jetzt noch Musik auf die Ohren und eine Runde durch den Stadtwald, um die Akkus aufzuladen

Zone+ & Usif Opening Set For Matthew Dekay

For the second year in a row, I was given the opportunity to stay with the ever-generous WO family.  That alone set things up to be an unforgettable week. My relationship with the guys has evolved at a healthy pace since the day we met just before BM 2015., and even though we do not see each other too often, we have grown fairly close.
This mix was recorded in the wee hours, from around 3 to 5 on Sunday morning. The evening leading up to the Man Burn was absolutely insane for me. It was just after sunset when my lover and I got stuck in the deep playa for a solid 90 minutes trying to find our way back to the Esplanade. I recall the sky getting really dark & stormy, feeling a couple of drops of rain and watching the wind pick up and throw dust into the air lowering our visibility by the second. I quickly realized we were not getting away from Mother Nature’s show. We jumped off our bicycles and embraced the situation, sat there for a moment to understand the storm was not stopping anytime soon. We then started pushing our bicycles struggling to even see our feet. I was holding my scarf around my head trying to protect my eyes, mouth and nose from getting filled up with dust. We were blind, and at the mercy of the elements.
Then . . . Something extremely strange happened out there. I remember us walking straight for so long and returning to the same point twice. It was like we had been walking around in circles. My level of confusion hit the red. Each art piece’s light in the dusty horizon would give me hope to have reached the destination. The struggle was real. It turned out to be one of the most memorable times of the week.
We eventually got back to the camp, unrecognizable, covered in white dust, looking 120 years old, exhausted. What an adventure! Our ordeal turned into one of the most memorable times of the week.
I passed out to wake up just before my set starting at 3am, following the Bedouin lads. To my surprise, the sky was clear again. I had managed to clean myself up and thought “great”, it’s going to be nice and calm out there . . . There was not one cloud in sight. I left my goggles and scarf behind and grabbed my USB sticks. I headed to the stage to watch the boys end their set to a packed dance floor. Whilst still in the process of waking, I jump on and guess what? Yes, another storm hit, a few minutes into my set. That’s it. I can’t see anything anymore, barely even the CD players, and of course, I don’t have my goggles. The wildness of the vista before me combined with my struggle made this experience truly magical in its own ways. The energy that surrounds you in such a situation is indescribable. It almost feels like time stops. Those of you who were there will remember, and those who weren’t, here is your opportunity to join in on my dusty journey at WO.
