For number 6 of the ALU podcast series we have invited SAMOH. It's safe to say that he is a true ALU resident, as he has played at at least half of all our sessions. Therefore we are happy to now also have him included in this podcast series.

Rotterdam based dj and producer SAMOH dedicades a huge amount of his time to developing his own sounds and music. He practicly lives in his studio, where he works a lot on his music productions and live sets. Creating groovy and dark drum patterns and tweaking his acid-machines. His passion for synthesizers, quick dynamics, fast grooves and dark sounds all comes forth in his dj and live-sets.

It’s been a while since I uploaded music to my Soundcloud. Last weekend I played the opening set at Unfold XXXI and had so much fun - it is hard for me to put it into the words. 

Opening slots are so important - they are the seeds that enable events to flourish. They are the first contact - the welcome to the dance floor that sets the tone for what will follow. They are the first dance. 

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed crafting it.

Merlina Maiello, aka Merlina, dió sus primeros pasos en la música  como raver de la escena underground, donde también organizó diversidad de eventos. Es en este circuito que comienza a interiorizarse con la música electrónica en distintos estilos del techno. Dedicando los últimos años a nutrirse como artista, formándose como DJ y actualmente como productora musical, donde continúa incorporando sonidos de distintos estilos, toma su principal influencia de artistas como Pfirter, Oscar Mulero, Setaoc Mass, Lady Machine, Tripeo, Michel Lauriola, entre otrxs. Creando así sesiones con groove mental.

The young Argentinian producer has been showing her talent for many months, presenting in her subsequent productions hypnotic sounds and drive grooves. Her podcast for Polish Techno.logy is a subtle and full of quality mix that you need to fire up now!

[BIO]:
Gina Demarchi (1997) - artist, Dj and Producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Always in search of experimenting through her sounds, preferably in groove, dub techno sounds preferably in groove, dub techno - Detroit, tribal, and another side more sensorial and experimental linked to ambient- break and hypnotic, in her productions. She seeks through her art to transmit freedom, connect through sensibility, rhythm, dance and vibration. She always aspires that her creation to generate some impact. She began studying piano, and that sparked her interest to form the beginning of her career as a producer. beginning of her career as an electronic music producer, since 2016. Her reference by her father since she was very small are jazz, blues, rock, opera, among others. Her studies were initiated with Sebastian Galante and currently with Nicolas Vogler and other colleagues in the field.

She edit her first LP on Diffuse Reallity and EP on Illegal Alien Records.  Gina Demarchi also made releases for labels such as: Aesir Records, Arido Records, Different Sounds, Analogue Network and more. 
Working on her next EP loaded with groove, with remixes from high caliber artists.

She presented her set in different cycles and clubs in Buenos Aires, and in other iconic countries such as  Espacio 93 (Chile Tour 2022). Merging in different styles, but with the same line, between groove, hardgroove, tribal and dubtechno with some hipnotic atmosphere.
