With over 20 years in this business we have played all over Sweden, as well as in Denmark, Finland, Norway, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Gambia, Moscow, London and New York. Addies emerged as the leading sound out of New York in the late 80’s and 90’s. Pioneered by the legendary selector ‘Danny Dread’, whose contacts helped advance the careers of nuff reggae artists in the international markets of North America and England. Danny Dread’s protégé BabyFace aka LionFace and the talented young MC called Tony Matterhorn have been named two of the best and most talented selectors the world has ever witnessed. Mchiriku group from Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

For the last ten years, we have been entertaining audiences on the streets of Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam. Melding rhythms from the ‘traditional’ styles of vanga and chakacha, with distorted keyboards and lyrics delivered almost as raps, the Mchiriku style of Jamaica is unique to Dar es Salaam. Made up of a singer, drums, chair, maracas and Casio keyboard player, the band regularly plays on the streets of Dar es Salaam.
