Keith David is a Melbourne-based guitarist/songwriter who recently released his 6-track EP, ‘Thoughts Around’, which is a mix of 4 songs and 2 instrumentals. It is based around the themes of birth, death, self-discovery and loneliness.
While the electric guitar is prominent in his music, ever present are ethereal keyboard textures whether supporting rhythmic progressions or teasing the ear with dream-like atmospheres. Acoustic guitars form a part of the overall fabric on many tracks and as stand-alone features in his instrumentals. 
Keith incorporates layered vocal harmonies within his songs and adds guitar harmonies occasionally to bring another level of melody into the mix. He is not averse to incorporating what can be described as ‘field sounds’ as a means of highlighting aspects of the songs.
After spending much of his musical path as a guitarist in various bands, Keith felt he needed to step up to release some of the material he has been creating. While Keith recognises musical evolution, as championed by such bands as Riverside and Porcupine Tree, he often returns to the old school organic and melodic approaches of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and other late 60’s sounds. These were his earliest influences and remain so to this day. 
Keith is currently working to promote the EP and is developing an acoustic act for classic cover songs as well as working with other musicians on various projects. He intends to form a band soon to take his music into the live arena.

Keith Thompson is a professional musician with many years of experience. He has worked in several bands and as a solo artist. He has travelled extensively in the UK as well as in European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Holland, Poland, Norway and also the USA. When not touring or playing “live”, Keith has been in demand as a session musician and writer in the studio. His guitar work has cropped up on several albums and as incidental music on television. A sample of Keith’s guitar work can also be heard as the soundtrack for the best-selling computer game, “Grand-Prix 2” and “Over The Hedge” from the blockbuster movie of the same name. Keith also writes songs and music for other artists and musical projects including library music.Has worked extensively for "Music Masters" library company in the UK delivering music to many labels & TV companies. He has added his skills on stage or in recordings to projects by Spooky Tooth, Steve Winwood, Ruby Turner, “Wurzel” from Motorhead, Dave Markee and Henry Spinetti (Eric Clapton Band and Tina Turner) Larry Burton, (Albert Collins, John Lee Hooker) Robbie Blunt, (Robert Plant) Greg Ridley of Humble Pie, Luther Grosvenor of Mott The Hoople and many others. He has sold over 100.000 albums and his library music projects include work for BMG, Wetton-Westgram, Music Masters and many others.
