This mix is something I've been wanting to do for a very long time: A meditative and contemplative ambient journey. Something that allows me to access deeper parts of my being, and helps get into the "flow" state. I assembled 5 hours worth of my favorite ambient electronica, and tested it 4-5 times in full before deciding it was ready for release into the world.

Spanning from 1969 (Terry Riley - A Rainbow in Curved Air) to Present, there's some quite special musical moments in here. I hope you enjoy it to spending time with a loved one, going about your day, going for a long drive or just about anything else your heart desires. My wish is for this mix to inspire moments of deep stillness, while revealing our true nature to ourselves.

The Secret Soul Society - Female Planet: Paper Guest Mix

'Tigre de Bengala' is a standout from La Guardia De La Luz's 2024 EP 'Paranormal' which now gets a single release next to remixes by Balearic Dreamers Coyote and Norwegian producer Sommerfeldt.

The original is a brilliantly off-balance and dubbed-out cut that is low-slung and pairs erotic vocal whispers with melancholic pianos for a dramatic sound. First up to remix is the Is It Balearic? Recordings founders Coyote who have previously remixed the likes of Calm on this label. Their take smooths things out to more serene and spiritual worlds lit up by distant starry twinkles and smooth claps that persuade the hips to sway. 

Then comes Sommerfeldt, an Oslo mainstay and Full Pupp, badabing diskos and Paper Recordings associate. His remix works the body with deep, rolling kicks while seducing the mind with undulating synth lines and a subtle sense of tension. 

These three alternative dance floor trips offer cultured explorations of the cosmic unknown.

In music, a pensato (Italian: «thought») is a composed imaginary note, a written note which is neither played nor heard. That's quite a funny little concept, isn't it? Maybe it's also an excuse for Italians who are too lazy to play their instruments. But that doesn’t mean Italians are lazy per se! Oh my god, where have I gotten myself into? That's exactly why I don't like to think too much. I, for one, like to play my notes the way they are supposed to be played: loud and through a trainload of crunchy effects. Maybe that's what this track is about – or maybe it isn't. It's best to just imagine a meaning and not overthink it, trust me.
