Étude in E-minor (Andante, op.60 Nr.14) by Fernando Sor

Third movement — Air à l'Italien — from Georg Philipp Telemann's Suite in A minor for Recorder & Strings. Performed by virtual ensemble of recorder, strings, and theorbo. The beautiful recorder is from Wallander Instruments. It is modelled, not sampled. Playing it on a wind controller (Akai EWI USB) is just like playing the real thing. Sloppy fingering can even cause squeaks just like on a real recorder. Amazing. (Those professional classical musicians I've talked to who don't know anything about virtual instruments really need to get their heads out of the sand, because the realism of these instruments is advancing rapidly. That's what I'm exploring here on SoundCloud.)

This recording was part of my very first studio production in 1985. I labeled it "affettuoso assai" and made copies on compactCassettes, each one by hand ! During the following years I managed to sell 500 pieces during my first gigs and concerts and was enormously proud of it.

This is the very 1st Classical song I ever heard played on guitar, and it became one of my life's missions to learn it. Over the span of about 12 years I finally learned all the parts, it took a while for me to find the music (tabs) for it, this was before everyone had computers in their home. I finally get to record it in the decent  fashion it deserves, and here it is........God Bless!
