"This was my first track after a long hiatus from making music, so it was refreshing to be able to come back into it with a clearer head and work a much more intimate and detailed way than before. I wanted to create the feeling as if you are reading the song as it is gradually being printed, with passages of more coherent pop-like melodies interrupted by intermittent workings and malfunctioning of whatever machine is creating the sounds.
