Not so long ago two great friends left the country where they lived and moved to Brooklyn, NY. There they re-builded their studio, produced new tracks far away from day-in day-out madness of the life they left behind for a while.
In this creative and intimate isolation the idea of the label came up – just like the next step to be taken in their intense relation. In July 2007 this idea became reality when @desolat-music-group was born.

Desolat is now a Düsseldorf-based label founded by Loco Dice, @locodiceofc and Martin Buttrich, @martin-buttrich. Both Dice and Buttrich had a long-standing artistic career in music before they decided to take a challenge and create a platform to release music they like independently and fast.

After he moved to Valencia, Spain, Darlyn Vlys created his own style of sensual and captivating tech house, tinged with jazzy influences and latin percussions. His sound quickly got him signed to some of the most influential labels on the dance music scene : Get Physical, Upon You, Suara or Sincopat and charted by big names like Loco Dice, Dubfire, Monika Kruse or Matthias Tanzman.
Born in southern Spain, when it comes to Germán Brigante is talking about innovative sound, characteristic stunning groove and a percussive touch in his tracks which results a personal and original sound.

Traumer aka Romain Reynaud has been plugging away of late with a string of fresh material surfacing in 2014, much of which has seen the blossoming producer pick up support from the likes of Mr.G, Franck Roger, and Doc Martin to name but a few. Here we see Romain join the roster of Loco Dice’s Desolat imprint.

Across the double pack we see Traumer skilfully explore a range of styles, opening cut ‘Hoodlum’ eases us in nicely with a bass-driven, funk-infused groove fuelled by jazzy melodies and gritty drum sounds. ‘Insola’, which delves into darker territories, follows this with distorted rhythms, swirling vocal licks and a Detroit tinged stab sequence. ‘Shuttering’ employs a similar aesthetic tipping the focus towards weighty percussive elements while the processed chord hits subtly drive the movement of the composition. B2 ‘Static Run’ explores new territories as Traumer blends a hypnotic arpeggio with bubbling low-slung percussion and expansive atmospherics.

Entering the second 12’’ we have ‘Swish’ which sees Romain opt for a more refined and minimalistic drum groove and classic dub tactics to create a blossoming seven-minute cut. ‘Wasp’ tips the vibe back to peak hours with a bumpy head-nodding rhythm construction, while a low-pitched vocal and evolving, resonant synth lines add a further mind-bending appeal to the record. The package is then rounded off with closing pieces ‘Chord X’ and ‘Mobius’, the first of which, as the name would suggest is led by insistent chord sequences and rumbling low-end hits, while the latter well and truly polishes off the package in style with meandering synth lines and a tripped out, unfolding feel.

Across the nine original productions and one collaboration with label boss Adam Beyer, Nicole has crafted a sonically diverse long-player of sounds which draw on the plethora of styles electronic music has to offer. From her accustomed techno to twisted house and everything in-between, the stylistic variety on offer means cuts Believe will easily feature in more intimate settings and big-room venues alike. Believe features a host of tracks aimed squarely at the clubs. From the moody Movin On, the bass-heavy Do Your Thing, to the industrial techno grooves on Come And Lay and the hypnotic chanting vocal on Get On It, the techno-aficionados will not be disappointed with what is sublime set of cuts that will no doubt destroy any dance-floor. </p>

<p>In contrast however, there are more intimate moments to be found. For example the rhythmically entrancing yet uplifting Fly With You, to Liberum Spirita with its mazy ethereal breakdown, and the synth-heavy percussive builder Lumière Tamisée. Fairplay Records is proud to present the label's third debut release, this time from London-based producer Hugo Slime with Ampige Connection 2.0 EP.

Hugo began pursuing his path in music back in the day, almost 20 years ago as a teenager, carrying his record box everywhere with him, always hoping to blag a spin on the decks. His persistence paid off and led to several club residencies, pirate radio shows and a regular column in Ravescene magazine, all under various monikers.

Now his debut EP shows off with three diverse house tracks - in the wider meaning - each reflecting his various influences: Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, House, Techno, and Classical, in fact “anything but thrash metal”.

The Ampige Connection 2.0 will be out on the 17th April via Bandcamp followed by all other download stores one week later.
