“Memoria Análoga / Discos CAIFE” details the process of rediscovering the CAIFE catalog and the artists that made it, 45 years after it was buried under 3 tonnes of newspaper. My estranged Grandfather, Carlos Rota, sotred over 400 analog tapes in his office in Quito, where he proceeded to accumulate a hoard of 3600 kilograms of paper media. When he passed away, I found the tapes, and began a profound process of rediscovering my self, my family, my city and my country."
